How gutted?

my mate got his new £12.5k Ducati Multistrada delivered Friday morning - by Friday afternoon and with 46 miles on the clock he'd lowsided it into a wall / hedge. He's ok but absolutely gutted - looks like a write off. Is this a record ? He reckoned the tyres would have been scrubbed in but it was damp and it was only hovvering around 5 degrees c . Blaming the ABS for cutting in - so he must have been tonking it. My other mate picked him up and took him home - said that his missus couldnt have looked any more like ***,curlers and rolling pin, than if she'd actually had a *** ,curlers and a rolling pin - specially as he'd bought the bike using her redundancy money!

46 miles the tyres might be scrubbed - but probably not on the edges. dunno?

Sort of poetic justice - spending his wife's Redundo on a bike though.

Sadly, that sort of crash is all too common.I've done it meself on a brand new pair of tyres.

Back in the day,...when Webbs Peterborough was Carnells,...a bloke that worked with Mrs.KB picked up a brand new Suzook and dropped it on his way home to K.Lynn.I think he'd only done about 25 miles on it.

There seems to be a trend in lowsiding Multistrada's

Even MCN threw one down the road

Is there a problem?

Theres a clip on Youtube of a GSXR rider crashing it just as h accelerates from the show room in the car park outside. Not even 100 yards on the clock ;)

ye must be some sort o major fanny tae dae that. Particularly if some clown wiz filmin ye!

Seen that one bay 50 Yards and he's on his arse

Did not know whether to laugh or cry

oHHHH the pain, shock and shame of doing that ....

My last bike was a TLR100R and with shiny new boots and with the words "ffs be careful until they scrub in" ringing in my ears ... off I went. What I had failed to take into consideration was that 70 miles on straight A roads does not = "scrubbed in".

The first left hander on a B road and out went the back end and winkety wink went my ring piece!

After 150 miles the tyres were nicely and methodically run in.

We must all have seen the bloke on Liveleak throwing his brand spanker GSXR down the road 20 meters from the showroom with a smile and a twist o' the wrist?

Shiny new bike wi crinkly new wanky matchin Gixer leathers.... an nae even oot the car park..whit a balloon!
