things looking up i hope:thumbup: ..stuck some red-x fuel cleaner in my tank today ,went for a good long run gave it a good kicking for most of the day only once did it stutter then it was great all day .also done my fork oil :eek:only had 400ml in each fork leg insted of 520ml front end seems much better my zip tie sitting around 3/4 " from the bottom but i could still get it to bottom out on some jumps started at 1`1/2 turns on comp and rebound 2 rings showing on the fork legs and 2 rings on spring comp went for 1 and 1 full turn wich did seem better but **** me i can still get it to bottom out if i want .could it be the oil to thin ?i went for 5 w which was taken out should i try 10 w see if that helps .also not sure if the fork springs are weak as i only changed the oil .the front end was very soft and easy to bottom out before and now its 100% better but on some landings i can get it to bottom out .am i missing something or am i just a:jack with my settings

Biff, I used the same stuff, currently £2 a bottle in ASDA! Ive only done one treatment but it does feel good.

Hey guys, I got recommended 'Putoline' Fuel Conditioner for cleaning out all the fuel build up (crap fuel from supermarket pumps!!). I used it on my track bike and it certainly ran better after it, but the engine did run a little hotter than normal until the fuel was used up. It was recommended by a Dyno guy who races himself. It comes in a 220ml tin. Hope it helps, he said Redex was a load of Cr*p??? but who was I to know? He also recommended using Shell fuel for a cleaner burn.

hi guys i only bought the red x stuff because the place a always use was closed and they sell the Forte cleaner wich ive used for years in all my cars so went to other shop for the red x in saying that the red x seems do have done the job also but i will be buying my good old Forte when the red x is done :)

As regards your forks; I changed the oil in my 02 mille showas about 6mth back because they were bottoming out. Iwas told to use 5wt on the forums but I thought this seemed a little light to me so after speaking to my local showroom they said they use 10wt in almost every bike so that's what I opted for. You want to be measuring the oil level not relying on volume as this is not accurate. The air trapped at the top of the fork under compression acts as a final spring so if your oil level was low like mine was this will cause the fork to bottom out as obviously air compresses way more than oil. Mine have been transformed and use up all of the travel apart from maybe 1/2". If you're still having bother either change the o'rings on the fork top caps as they maybe leaking or at least greese/oil them to make a better seal. I've also found loosing the top caps off once in a while to allow outside air in works a treat??? Hope this helps

thanks wiz ,i only opted for the 5w as that was what went in when k-tech sorted them a few years back but that was the last owners choice so thats why the 5w went back in .i also had my forks hanging upside down for 24 hours after flushing them out with parafin to drain them off i know about the air gap thing but i had no way of doing that at the time so i went for the volume option instead .the front end now seems much better much firmer than before but if i had went for the 10w would it not make it to stiff ? i can change it for 10w if you think it will stop it bottoming out .thanks for the input mate im open to any help in making my bike work right
