Hot/Cold start issue, battery or other?

Have a starting issue with the 03 Mille RSVR happen a few times. Has happened right after a 120 hot well spirited ride as well as fresh out of the garage after sitting for 3 days. The bike starts to crank, stops and then the cluster resets itself (Changes back to KPH, C, reset mileage, etc...). It will start up after a few more cranks but is a bit concerning. The PO mentioned to me that due to a lightweight smaller battery it may have hot start issues and letting it sit for 5-10 minutes should clear it up but it has happened to me twice now on a cold start. Is this more of a battery issue or should I start chasing wiring/relays/solenoids? Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Battery issues..or a loose terminal,crappy earth

What voltage is the battery ..use a multimeter and test off and with engine running

Check battery cables - not just how tight they are, but how well the lug is crimped to the cable.

Similar problem is discussed in this thread -

However, the OP has yet to confirm the fault.

If the cluster resets, there is an open somewhere in the circuit that provides power to it. The battery cables are a known issue (based on what I've read).
