Finally got round to installing my kit today and thought I'd write this guide as some have asked how easy/difficult it is. As well as the dipped beam I also replaced the standard side light with an ultra blue one so as to take away the yellow glow from the side light when in normal operation.
Kit used :- H7 6000k 35W from ebay member wonderfulspace (comes with enough kit for 2 lamps so split with a mate to save costs, £38.99 delivered)
cable ties, scissors, Halfords Ultra Blue sidelight (optional £3.99 for 2)
Bike :- 2002 RSV
Time :- 1 Hour (including picture taking)

Sorry if this is teaching some people to suck eggs but wanted to be as precise as possible to help all.
1. Remove the nose cone by unscrewing the 4 screws by the mirrors, the 2 smaller ones on the underside of the cone and above the front mudguard, the 2 screws on the outside of and slightly below the relay/fuse boxes and disconnect the white connector block so the whole unit can be worked on easier.
2. Remove the lower rubber cover and unplug the connector which leaves the lamp showing.
Push down on the pins and lever outwards, remove the pin and then remove the old lamp

3. On the rubber cover draw and cut out a 25mm diameter hole

4. Keeping the lamp still in its case for protection at this stage, take the lamp cables and pass them through the hole (ensuring the lamp is on the inside of the cover) and then squeeze the gromit so that the smaller end passes through the hole. This can then be sealed with a sealant if you wish. I didn't as the lights are not air tight anyway and didn't see the need.
5. Connect the 2 spade connectors of the new wiring loom to the original wiring. I have used black/blue and red/black (photo shows the other way round as picture was taken before testing) if your lamp fails to ignite then swap around.

6. Insert the new lamp ensuring that the lug is seated correctly and reinsert the securing pin.
7. Tuck all of the cables inside the lamp and re-secure the rubber cover
8. Remove the side light white rubber plug by pulling, pull out old lamp and push fit the new one.

9. Reconnect the white connector block and refix the nose cone, reversal of the removal.
10. I have secured the ballast by cable ties to the left hand relay box and passed the cables round the back of the round bar under the clocks. This is just my preference as it keeps the ballast cool and doesn't interfere with the operation of anything. Connect all cables by push fitting and making sure the securing clip catches, plug and play and all will only fit one hole.

Before (well Hi beam actually as I forgot a before picture)
After (it looks a lot bluer than it actually is but still unbelievably brighter)
[/IMG]
It was hard to get a true representation of the effect and change in the brightness with a camera (if anything they look worse) but in person it is unreal. I have fitted them to my car as well.
Any questions or if you see something that I have missed then please let me know/ask.
This is intended as a guide only and I accept no responsibility for damage or injury caused while performing this modification.
Kits may vary.
Please check local legislation regarding the fitment of HID lights as a non standard fit.
