hi guys, was wondering if any one can help me, the bugger wont start, i took it out last week,started 1st time. its got a 14volt battery on it and its on the optimiser all the time, even got petrol in it.. ive taken all the connectors apart and wd40'd them and put them back. it did start briefly raced a bit ,so i pushed the cold start forward, it died then wont go again, sounds like it wants to fire but wont..cheers in advance windymiller.

Windy, at least yours wants to fire, mine just kicks in the fuel pump and I believe has reset the computer and trip.

does it try to fire without the cold start on at all.

hi charlie, yeah its really trying, i think it must be plugs or damp. there was a strong petrol smell so its getting through. can you flood a fuel injected bike? round 2 tmw after work,il let you know how it goes..its doin my head in but it dont sound as bad as ozzies problem..cheers windymiller..

sounds like mine when i had no fuel in it. I still got the smell of petrol etc.

How much do you have in there ?

well ,i got back from work went out expecting a bike based nightmare and the beauty started 1st bloody prod of the starter.. well thats good but wtf was that about yesterday.. i went to local dealers and he suggested changing the spark plugs, looks like a **** job but im goin for it..preparing myself for skinned knuckles and lots of cussing.. oh and by the way when it did start it was really rich. despite clean air filter. well laters you lot im goin mechanicing...thats a laff

Would it act this way if had the wrong chip in it.?

either a race chip on standard can or vica versa/

Hi Chappo, i dont know. it might be that because i took the aftermarket can off after my throw over luggage melted to it, and put the standard can on, but saying that that was months ago and ive had no problems since, im gonna clean up the other can and see what happens when i put it back on, i dont know what chip is in it. or where it lives on the bike to check. cheers windymiller.

REmove seat pads.

remove little rubber cover, 6" x 6" lifts off.

Metal box with 2 connectors. Remove them.

Pull out metal box

undo 4 small screws

Remove cover.

There's your chip

1.5" x 0.8"

cheers weeksy, il have a look. af1 are doing an akro can with the right eprom , only thing is being from the states i dont know wether the standard will meet B.S, il drop them an e-mail. the guy that posted it was from N.Z. hope itl be okay it was a good deal.
