Hi Curt mate......

I'm no mechanic and someone with more knowledge than me will be along soon with some concrete advice but the battery you have should be upgraded asap to a 12ah one, the bike should ALWAYS, ALWAYS be plugged into a battery conditioner/trickle charger and lastly, change the starter solenoid for a Yamaha one (search this forum for the exact part number). If it don't start VERY soon after thumbing the starter WALK away from it till you have charged the battery fully and try again, continuing can and very possibly WILL f*ck your sprag clutch, which i've been advised is a costly repair!!

The chip and filter shouldn't cause this grief i don't think bud.

Hope this helps and you get it all sorted soon................:thumbup

Hi, First of all charge your battery and are you using the cold start lever? You can upgrade the battery but i still us the standard type you just have to make sure its charged well so that it will start easily and not cause strain on the sprag clutch.

as Andi says - start it with cold start lever to full and NO throttle. Lots of people been having cold start problems on here so do a search. Oh, and welcome to the Zone!

Your EPROM could be the issue here, it may not be sending signals to the injectors etc....

I would suggest you charge your battery and refit the old EPROM and see if it starts.

If it starts then you will have to refit the new EPROM and if it doesn't start then you have a duff EPROM or damaged EPROM.
