Help its dead, I was at Oulton park on a track day parked her up after a session with no problems. When I went to restart her for the next session I got the clocks doing the normal little dance as I pushed the start button the display went off and then showed Apmt 0025. Turned off the ignition and tried again then I had a service light on, tried once more and now get nothing when I turn on the ignition its dead. Tried the battery and its ok and also tried my other key but that makes no difference. Any ideas ?

Also the fuses under the seat test ok.

More info, If I leave the bike for about 30 mins then I get the ignition and dash back again starting with the APMT 0025 then back to the normal dash lights, been into diagnostic mode and no ecu faults or error codes, tried to clear and reset just in case but still the same. I can then turn on and turn off the ignition many times and all looks fine, you can even hear the fuel pump working. But as soon as I try to start the bike on the button ( I don't get as far as the starter kicking in)then I can hear noise like a relay cutting in from under the seat area and all goes dead for another 30 mins.
:bawling

She RUNS!! At last we are back on the road. Just a quick Thank You to everyone that gave me ideas and help. The only thing is that I did not 100% find the problem, but when the bike was in bits I cleaned every terminal including the earth to the frame, I also replaced the starter solenoid. So its fingers crossed. Time will tell if we have fixed it 100% but its looking good so far.

compared to dukes, aprilia have always had a good rep for reliability but i've noticed we seem to suffer 'italian quality' electrics, especially on the cables taking a load such as the starter circuit wires and connectors burning out :banghead
good luck mate, hope you put ya finger on it:thumbup

hi darren, try the relays under the pillion pad. I had the same prob and it was the sidestand relay(not the one near the right side framerail looking from rear lights, the one next to it).Not saying yours is deffo it but if ti happens again push the wires back up to the relay that maybe it,Andy
