i can only get 80 miles before the fuel light comes on. I have a GPR powercone exhaust, it sounds good (not quite as loud as Neo's SC Project)

I managed to get out on Saturday for an hour, apart from that I have not managed to get out much due to the rain. The days are starting to get longer so hopefully we can ride some more

enjoy your new ride Jack930, in your first post you asked about potential problems on a long ride - the seat is very hard, i have got used to it, but I generally don't ride for more than an hour, get one of the newer seats if you are going to be sat on it for a long ride

Ok..so the bike i was getting is no more ?? Had a chat with dealer and they had the same bike with beter service history and a few other extras..rsv rear end ++ and got told the resale value on this one would be better.. so its now been bought by me..

Now im not to botherd with exhaust just now as ill be removing the flapper valve with the stock one.

I would like to know as im planning a trip in june..whats the best screen to get and looks good..

Also how hard is it to change yhe rear end back to the orig..i only need to do it for the trip then change it back..

Cheers

Changing the rear end is not something you can do in 10 minutes.

It's not hard, but there are around 15 screws that need to go back in.

There is a video on Youtube for fitting the RSV4 rear end, look that up and do it in reverse. It will give you all the info you need.

The official Aprilia touring screen offer great protection and follows the lines of the bike.

The Puig screen looks like Darth Vaders hat. Hideous.

The Mra offers decent protection and you can get it in a dark tint.

I found the touring screen puts lots of buffeting around your head at 80+. I removed mine and put it back to standard.
Have you looked at getting the rsv4 pillion seat instead of swapping the rear ends over, that what I will be using this year along with kreiga bags, works well enough.

I found the opposite. Good protection, but much prefered the naked look.

Have it sitting in my shed somewhere.

Im down in Wiltshire,, we plan on going away on June the 3rd to Pyrenees lol only going for 6 days, sailing to Caen and riding down country roads, over 2 days, 2 in Pyrenees 2 days back. if i don't find or get one ill just use a tank bag for this trip. don't go away that much so its no biggy..

Cheers

I'm still undecided between a late Gen 2 or the V4. I am nervous about the potential for gearbox issues with the early V4's. Is there a recall list anywhere for the V4's?

Try out a v4 make sure it's either low miles or some history I bought mine on 8k no history at all I love it it's now just over 10k it's miles apart from the gen2s I have had I suspect you will need to part with more £ for one over a gen2 tho, good luck I still love my gen 2 thous I had but the v4 is something else that's my opinion tho
