Yes it is possible to bleed the rear brake in situ but best results are achieved when you remove the caliper and hang it so the nipple is upermost. Alternatively you could try pressure bleeding. Thats where you use a syringe and plastic pipe to force fluid into the system through the bleed nipple. Works for me. As the resv fills up you draw out the old fluid with another syringe.
