sorry les, but i think alluminium is the way to go on this one.

Ali is a nice material to work with, but not on a plasma profile cutter the heat generated would mean that the quality of the final item would not be very good. You need a laser or high pressure water profile cutter for a nice neat ali job. I will nip in tomorrow and ask the gaffer if hes got a couple of hundred grand and I'll get one.

But alas we have got a industrial plasma and what you see is what you get. They will clean up. Mind you I suppose if you are lining up on the track day grid then a few grams makes a difference . for free so dont take the piss LOL

Leslie this might sound stupid but why not drill the holes? or even leave them blank and let the dudes do it themselves.

That would be the obvious solution, but the time required to drill 2 x 9mm holes through 3mm stainless would mean i would have to charge people for the brackets plus not all Tuono owners have the facilities to drill the holes if I left them blank.

I am getting the basic bracket plasma cut for free. You do not see the holes when painted and fitted.

I could spend all day designing and writing up the manufacturing process, but that would put the brackets in the £22-£30 Nett a set unpainted with neat drilled holes which would defeat the object of the exercise

If I'd have had the ******* things on (I bought a set the previous fall) I wouldn't have ****** up my new warranteed instrument cluster and clutch lever when I crashed. ****! AND my hands would have stayed a lot warmer in September, October and November... There's nowt wrong wi' them lad. Especially if it means that you will be riding more.

What are the holes centre to centre Pete ?
Nobs,
I called into the office tonight the centers of the 2 x 9mm holes is 50mm, hope this is of help mucker.

Fantastic research guys, -6°C up here in west Cumbria, after being bored to death with Carbon bolt on crap at the bikeshow for me T (except for some ASV levers he, he), I'd rather have hand guards on my T to make it an all weather machine. Thanks for all the advice and dimensions of brackets. Gonna order 'guards up ;).

Re: Royal British legion have a riders branch, would be worth joining to support their cause, i was on the Golden Poppy Ride through cumbria earlier this year really good turnout and great folk. Maybe TuonoZone members could get together next year for a similar event??

I thought yer were knockin them out in yer lunch break. It wis jist a thought Leslie and yer right aboot leavin them blank, some might struggle to drill 3mm stainless with fast spinning hand drills.

You could have bought heated gloves for that price, and still had change.

Super Star just got my hand guards and bar end weights, yesthey were expensive but handgaurds AND heated grips will be even better!

Just got to make up those brackets.

BTW V4 Tuonos due April anytime soon according to my local dealer (Whitehaven).

Hope yer buy one of them v4 t's and feck off fae here ya poofter.
