still awaiting the outcome of the YTZ12 status !? :confused

I have a couple of optimates which I use for car and bike no probs ,but the 2 I have from Aldi operate with different settings for each. When using the optimate on a car battery it takes a couple of days to fully charge,
sandy v2

the saga continues... lol

my bike is now @ Metropolis SE1 for a 2nd opinion... took it sat morning... never used these guys before for 'servicing'... are they any good !? :dunno

No fella, they're a bunch of fukin sharks and thier grease monkeys are just that - useless bunch of cnuts, I'd get yer bike back and take it to southern cross.

Deacs :thumbup

Well that sounds like a plan.
Just buy a cheap lidl optimate and hook er up at work.
You surely should be safe for the winter !!

In the mean while ask a allowance from the government for driving a hybrid !!:doug

lol... hybrid eh !? :biggrin

iv given the Southern Cross guys 3 attempts now... its cost me around £250 in all with them & still got the same problem... they're scratchin there heads now !?

thought id get a 2nd opinion... but im worried now... but atleast they must be better than Chas Bikes... gulp !? :dowhat

cant afford spending anymore money if she keeps dying every week or 2... perhaps i better give up & let some who has a garage & optimate take care of her !? :inlove

Now that you've received Dr Rossi chip, install it and see how it goes. I agree with you in looking for a 2nd opinion. SC could not find the problem with my bike in 4 attempts. At the end it was only a dodgy coil. My point is that a couple of new eyes can look at the problem from another perspective and hopefully sort it out. Good luck :thumbup

sorry... dont mean to keep dragging this back up... but WTF... all 3 of my batteries (2* Vartas (12 & 14) & a Yuasa (12)) not making 'opitimal' charge... they been connected up since 2pm yesterday till now !? :confused

apparentley this is my problem... im charging the (fecked) batteries... then putting them in the bike... they last a week or 2 then there fecked again !? :dunno

the YTZ14BS is only about 1 month old & the Yuasa is 2 months old !? :rant

can my Halfords Powerpack 200 really of fecked these batteries up !?

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :biggrin

What are you measureing the voltage with ?
But yes you can.
A motorcycle battery you may charge with max around 3 amps
More could kill it.

feck... feck... feck... im the biggest knobster going !! :doug

Re: Halfords reply - No its a power pack not a battery charger. It can jump start a low charged battery but will not act as a full charger !!

apparentley the charging status on the Powerpack is the status of the 'actual' powerpack if you want too use it too jump a vehicle... & not the charging status of my battery that has been connected for several hours to a powerpack jump starter !! :jack

:biggrin

That surely not the charging capacity.

Since a few years the chip that charges and monitors the battery has become available for evey body.
So now you can get a good charger/monitor like a optimate for around 20,-
Get one.

got it back... they managed to find one of my batteries was ok... so all sweet as again... £50... going to get Dr Rossi chip fitted asap... & hopefully this thread will 'self implode' & never be seen again !! :thumbup
