Dawn mate, Where abouts are you, maybe someone could pop around and take a look. I would if I knew what to do mate. 1500 is too cheap I would say.

might be worth getting the niggles sorted

iv spent loads getting it fixed & re-fixed... i think it just the climate its kept in... im sure if it were kept under cover it would be fine... plus my boss is getting slightly annoyed now... so leaving me with no alternative... but he is letting me lend his bike till i get a replacement !! :thumbup

would'nt a swap for a B12/VFR 750 etc... needs to be 750cc+ though !! :biggrin

Did you try flipping the battery out each night to charge and replacing in the morning? Seriously, it is next to no time at all and if it still plays up after that then it's time for a bonfire :D

Good luck with the sale/swap if you decide to go for it squire :thumbup

Tis too cheap though...

It's a shame after all the time and money you've spent on the bike. Best luck with selling it and getting something more reliable.

im gutted... id love too be able to ride the bike all year ride... id definately get another one (in silver again)... but only when i have a garage... lol !! :thumbup

was thinking of getting a cheap £300 quid hack... but whats the point... the RSV would still be just sitting there open to the elements still !! :dunno

no... i didnt try unplugging & plugging the battery... i really cant be arsed as i live 9 floors up... & the bike has been running perfectly until this morning... but i did swap the old with a freshly charged battery... but you could smell the richness of petrol coming from the bike... it was definately flooded this morning... even though i follow the starting process correctly... so the fresh battery would'nt of helped !!

Just out of curiosity, what can do you have fitted and has it got a modified EPROM (Chip) fitted in the ECU?

I had the RP58 EPROM fitted as standard and that poured fuel in like it was free, fitted a DrRossi EPROM and all was well again.

i was thinking that myself... its a evolution chip... seems to make the bike smell of petrol when fitted with any other can than the standard... but i works for ages so should'nt be the cause !! :dunno

iv got 57mms & matching Dr Rossi chip too under the desk (not inc @ £1500)... was going to buy a Hook kit... & see how it runs... dunno... im just fecked work wise... they will be well fecked off if i fix it again then it breaksdown again... as i end up being 1.5hr late & were down too minimum office staff... its only cos iv been with them 11yrs they're so lenient !! :inlove

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... feck... feck... lol :biggrin

generally... they dry off the plugs... recharge the battery... then test/suggest things which i agree too... end of the day... they get it going... & it works for awhile... but the problem could be anything... i was hoping with it being fuel injection with a dianosgic thingy... it would bring up any problems... but it does'nt seem that clever !! :-(

atleast with good old carbs... things were simpler... lol !! :biggrin

And you have no diagnostic codes displayed when you connect the two terminals behind the right side panel?

If you have no codes displayed then I'd recommend you head straight for the air thermistor and see what kind of readings you are getting from it. I can guarantee that the terminals will be all green and corroded.

Check out 6.4.9 of the manual for test values.

you've lost me there fella... would that be Haynes manual... iv left it @ work... cos everytime i needed it... it was @ home... typical... lol !! :biggrin

cheers lads... but definately for sale now !!

Oli is having 1st dibs... then il post it in for sale section with full write up & pics !! :unhappy

Hi Dr Rossi... the cold idle starts @ 4000rpm... but i do knock it down to 2500rpms pretty much straight away... what is it suppose to go to initially !? :confused

you are a truely gracious person to offer one of your chips... no doubt it would help alot... as the bike is also quite thirsty !! :thumbup

id do the whole shebang with the 57mms & Hook... but i dont think id get £1900 for it afterwards if it didnt work !! :unhappy

i always switch the lights off... battery power has always seemed fine to me... it'll just suddenly not fire up randomly even though its been fine for maybe 50 starts !? :dunno

spec is 2002 all de-restricted with wire/airbox & standard exhaust... though would like to run it with the Quill T3 legal pipe if that makes a big difference !? :inlove

i found one of my dyno charts with the A/F with the standard can & current chip... looks pretty crap i think... though im not an expert !? :dunno

Just wait with the 57mm.
Send a pm and I'll send out a eprom.
But lift the tank and bring the fast idle back and check the tps with nob fully unwind.

Here we go !

the saga continues... lol

my bike is now @ Metropolis SE1 for a 2nd opinion... took it sat morning... never used these guys before for 'servicing'... are they any good !? :dunno

so far my 'brand new' YTZ14 battery is charging but will only hold 10V's !? :confused

he asked what i used to charge my batteries... i told him iv got one of those big grey things that also have a built in air compressor... he said that this isnt the best thing to use & could be fecking up my batteries !? :dunno

going to run my other YTZ12 battery over to see what happens !? :eatcorn

Dr Rossi... the chip arrived today... many thanks... il swap it over as soon as i get my bike back !! :thumbup

Mate, sounds like you're using a booster/starter pack, which I can't imagine would be doing your battery any good. Get yourself an Optimate which will charge it properly.
