So another year.. another MOT . Bled the back brake (no surprise) Bled the clutch .. Charged the battery and will it start ? Will it **** .. And whats the issue ? Bloody water in the fuel again !!

Removed nearly 4lt of fuel before it ran clear . Anyone know a fix for the Fuel filer that 100% fixes this ? I did the hard plastic insert to push the rubber seal but obviously it dose not work. I cant have the only leaky one !!

Not a nice problem to have.
how long and where did you leave the bike to get that much water in?

The water is possibly from the ethanol in the petrol, one solution is to use super unleaded, it's still supposed to be ethanol free, kinder to the tank and hoses too

Yes this is one reason, Is the bike stored well, inside, outside, damp garage, next to a clothes dryer (ask Chris13), Fuel filter wont stop this it only protects the pump the moisture is being created or leaked in the tank. Condensation due to heat and cold cycles, tank vent poor. There could be lots of reasons that will cause this.

It was mostly under a cover (but outside) but the cover was old and the UV killed it and it tore and was thrown out so maybe a month with no cover . Im sure its getting in through the filler .. Maybe need to stip and check it off the bike to confirm this .. and check drain hole again

Most super unleaded fuels now include ethanol....

I would check the tank filler drain hole.
First make sure the nipple under the tank is not blocked, then pour some fuel or something through it to make sure it comes out of the drain hole.
If it doesn't, then the internal drain pipe in the tank mite be the issue. Think you have to take the pump out etc to replace... but not sure on that.

If you tilt the tank up wwhen it has plenty of fuel in and it leakes through the cap then your seal isn't good enough, if fuel doesn't leak out then I doubt water will be getting in...

well it dose not leak anymore since i did the hard plastic ring round the seal ... But water still getting in somewhere . As i said in my opening post... I had to remove over 4lts of fuel before it ran clear .. I did check the drain but think i need to revisit it
