Front brake crash

Extremely poor pdi and I would be very angry if it were my bike. I am off to double check my bike right now. However, I doubt that was the cause of your crash. I am sure you could take one or two of those bolts out and it would make no difference. My 675 only has two similar sized bolts holding the calliper on.

Hope you are feeling better today.

And the dealer said........

I just came back from the dealer and was told this cannot happen because the there is a flange that seats into the mount from the caliper and prevents twisting.
So we took one apart and there in not any flange just the caliper that fits flush against the mount and can and did twist and bind.
I am sad because I like the owner and the dealer and am surprised they are trying to weasel out of this.
I should know in a couple of days if they are willing to fix my bike. I really don't want to go the attorney route but this is hard to let go.
I will post the results
Now go toque down your calipers.
Thanks all
Greg

That is sad news Greg. Especially if you like the guy, and now he's showing truer colours.

"So we took one apart and there in not any flange just the caliper that fits flush against the mount and can and did twist and bind."

Was this while you were at the dealer? If so, then he's aware that this is the probable cause of your accident?

Have you had an estimate for the repairs yet?

Good luck Greg. Keep us posted.

Sounds like the path any dealer would take to save his own dollars escaping....
Let us know how you get on, and dont fold under the dealers pressure!
If no insurance it will be a very heavy $$$$$ to pay and fix her up.
Could also try one of those no win no fee leagal firms....
Cheers and good wishes for the negotiations...... Towie

Nicely put & i 100% agree Mogster..
But what if i like a bit of a slap every now and again?

Nooooooooooo i meant a bit of a slap from the ladies..... **** the last thing i need is a tank slapper... a small one when letting the front wheel down perhaps is ok but not going into a corner.... that thought just scared me alittle....
