I have just bought some OZ forged wheels, (blue) they are in great condition, except for brake dust etc
I want to give them a really good clean, and have considered an acid based wheel cleaner, but I have a sneaky suspicion that it may harm or even discolour the anodise.

I've tried WD40...and found that it does not actually lift the **** out of the finish, it just polishes it in deeper. I do not want to powder coat or paint, as I love the matte anodise finish.

Anyone here with an idea?

Cheers chaps ;)

Tifa, try S Doc100 cleaning gel it aint cheap but its good, spray it on and leave it for 20 mins then give it a scrub with a stiff brush and wash off. hope it works :yes

I use WD-40 for the brake dust and a Mister Clean magic eraser followed by "Lemon Pledge"( we use to use it on all the bikes in the shop in the '80's)My forged wheels are gold and quite smooth,so far. and WD is all I use first.

I use "Muck-Off" chain cleaner on my wheels.

It brings them up a treat, but they are not forged.
