Just changed mine on my bike...8min 34 seconds..lol lol...I timed myself for a laugh, as i need a booster to myself as am still having a problem electrically with my bike. So i have a list of things to do before she is off to the garage... My tip is when old jet is loosend, a piece of thin wire with small hook on end..popped out straight away..now to go and do something else on it...hmmmmm

just did mine using the wire through the jet hole method. the one that came out was a .60 the new one a 40. I make that a 50% reduction in flow.
I'm glad to report the improvement is instant and dramatic. the bike is transformed/ best £15 I ever spent.

Is this worth doing, even if I've fitted an Oberon slave cylinder?
Would my bike already have it done (2008 RSVR1000R)?

Damn, was hoping maybe the change of jet would help my gearbox issues.
Biggest problem is finding neutral when engine is going.
Finding it from first is impossible, rolling or stopped.
Finding it from second is sometimes possible while rolling, but sometimes absolutely refuses and just goes into first again.

Just had mine changed (2004 model). However i cheated and had it done for me. My bike had been sitting in the garage for 2 years without being run, So was in for a full service. I also had an Oberon slave cylinder fitted. Both changes have really helped. Neutral used to be impossible to find. Sometimes i even ended up holding the clutch in with my right hand and leaning down and using my left hand to to get the bike into neutral. Now however it is a lot easier and i can actually sit at a red light without having to hold the clutch in and getting a pain in my wrist.
Really worth doing.

I see this is an old thread, but here goes anyway.. some eejit of a parts guy told me a Jet 40 would "dangerously restrict oil flow". That sent me off scouring the internet for a Jet 70 and I ended up ordering one last week, and at some extra expense, from AF1 in the US.

Now from Spoonz helpful post here I've gathered that, the OE part in my 2000 RSVR will probably going to be a Jet 75 - or maybe a Jet 60 - but that it is the Jet 40 I want to fit since its SMALLER bore helps find neutral etc by restricting oil flow and that it was fitted later to all Mille engines of that era. Great info.

Turns out mate has a Jet 40 for sitting aside for me anyway so I'll try to cancel my AF1 order and try the Jet 40 first... Here's hoping I can then stop having to kill my ignition and fiddle about whenever I've failed to select neutral before rolling to a stop!
