First Ride

I thought so. All good here mate thanks. How's bout you Richie boy?

Sure did. Erm, I’d love to tell you how great it is but can't as done all of about 3 miles since picking it up in January. Insurance & tax now sorted, battery arriving Thursday & I’m off out, sun, rain, snow, I don’t give a fook. Will let you know how they compare but I’m sure someone will be along with a comparison for you soon enough!

What you looking for? Gen1, Gen2, standard or factory? Like with all bikes, I looked at loads of these & it can be a minefield. The earlier Gen2's had clock problems (misting up & cracked glass) so many were replaced under warranty. Do you homework as the mileage & history may to stack up. Nearly bought a clean looking 07 plate with 5000 advertised miles. History & paper work seemed ok. Rang the last known dealer to service it as wasn't stamped & turns out it had new clocks at 20,000 miles 2 years ago. Didn't look at the Gen1 so can't help there.

Look up Hector as he had a very tidy Gen2 for sale at a good price

I'm good thanks Rob, lookin forward to some warmer weather !

As far as the bike goes I'd be happy with a well sorted gen1, but if I could find a tidy gen2 for £4k or less I'd be very tempted. There does seem to be the odd one come up here and there. I cant believe how well the gen1's seem to hold their money tho, plenty of them for over £4k !! 20,000 missing miles eh? Thats scary. I'll make sure I try and dig deep for history when I'm lookin. Patience isn't my strong point when bike shoppin tho . . .

I paid £5100 for my Gen 1 about 8 to 10 months ago. Could have had a Gen 2 for that price but the Gen 2's didn't have the Ohlins which was on the Gen 1 I bought.

Another "Pished on eBay" treasure. Good thing I don't drink that much. I can't say much fer yer collective tastes when ye've been "socializing" then scouring eBay for that next wicked deal...

yikes £5100 for a 7/8 year old bike !! But if thats the one thats the one :)
Got my standard gen2 for £4200 under 10000 miles fsh etc could get nice ohlins with the difference to £5100 though.

Yeah pikey you're right but you try and find a Gen 1 racing for less money. Where's the sense in that huh. No point in worrying about it now as I can't change it as only had it less than a year.

Biking is always about heart rather than head and you clearly love your bike and that's the important bit :)
