Sun was out this lunchtime so I thought i'd take the T out for a nice 'steady' ride. Intended to go and do 50 or so miles to make sure everything was as it should be.

Set off from mine in Carlisle and rode over Caldbeck Fell to Lake Bassenthwaite. Along the lake to Keswick, then the A591 to Windermere (feckin nightmare due to cars/buses). A short blip to Kendal then to Devils Bridge, quick brew then back up by Sedbergh along the A684 to the M6.
Jeez.......this road has never been so much fun. I actually turned around twice to ride the same stretch 3 times! If only i'd have had my leathers on, it could have been even more fun in a drag a knee occasionally kind of way!
3 hours and 150 miles later I arrived home. Covered in feckin flies though which never happened on my 10R! :laugh

Anyway, just wanted to say that the T is awesome and so far has done all I have asked of it. It loves the clutch in second too. :devious

Nice one Dave; sounds like you`ve had a great time mate ! :thumbup

I know exactly how you feel about the T; just collected my new one today, and I`m feckin buzzin !!

What a bike these are !!! :cool2

next time yer fancy goin down that way again, shout up.. i,m sure me and a few others spend a lot of time hooning round that area..

@daveC, i was at devils bridge yesterday, i was having a bacon butty and a cuppa and seen another T come in, a blue & white 07, it must have been you, mine was the white & silver 2011 T parked close to the road, don't know if you where still there when the two bike plods rolled in for there dinner, also a lad on a purple 600 hornet come in, he was all over my T, took pictures and asked loads of questions about it, handling, etc, he even had the cheek to ask for a sit on it, didn't really mind though, the T is certainly a fantastic bike.

Yeah that was me pal. Bald heed, blue Alpinestars jacket. A couple of blokes had a poke round mine too. :)
Missed the plod come in as had to make a move back up the road.
Saw your bike, very nice indeed. :thumbup

A neighbour mate of mine (who sorted my clutch) led me on a raid into Wales this evening. He's a club and trackday addict with many hundreds of hours of fast riding and a wealth of experience under his leathers.

Tonight his chosen steed was a RS250.

Within 15 mins I was questioning my decision ... and my sanity ... christ he's quick!

1hr 40 mins including a fuel stop and a piss / visor clean / coffee stop ,,, we got home.

Trip computer tells me we did 98.7 miles

Max speed 131mph ... although that could have been anywhere

He was hurtling into corners ... knees on deck ... and only because of the huge advantage in grunt was I able to keep up with him ... although through one set of twistys he left me completely for dead. No shame ... I simply couldn't keep up.

Funniest moment?

He picked a roundabout in Bishops Castle and went whizzing round and round with his right knee planted showering me with *****. I tipped in a bit more intent on grounding my virgin sliders and the ******* front wheel let go!

Ever dabbed at 40mph on a roudabout?

"******* good save" he bellowed as he lapped me.

Tonight my freinds I truly leaned the difference between

"A man who rides"
and
"A man who can ride"

Good news is my new back tyre is pretty much run to the edge!

I had my front end go entering a roundabout in Brecon mate. Some car decided to put its foot down as I was overtaking it and then tried to keep me out in the 2nd lane. Anyway I hit the roundabout at a fair lick with front brake fully on and one of the trucks carrying chippings for the new road surfaces must have dumped a bit of its load on the deck. Front end let go and really washed out . I'm not sure if the back did as well but all I really remember is my back being ****** rather severly as the tyre (s) gripped the tarmac again. Didn't have time to dab my foot but woah it was an eye opener.

Scary stuff. I've had the front move around and step out maybe a inch or so and that's always got my sphincter twitching like a rabbit's nose.

Its the back that feels like it wants to slide on the T, its as if the shock is squatting badly but it doesnt do it all the time. maybe time to get it set up

180 - do you have the standard sachs shock? If so it's utter utter shi-ite, bin it. I replaced mine with a second hand Ohlins off ebay and the difference is amazing.

A bit late in answering you Gilo but yes Sachs still on it. I might need to wait to get an Ohlins as it looks like the tyres will need replacing in the next 500 miles. 2k from a set isnnae to bad fir a twin I suppose
