Hi - newbie here. I am considering a '03 Tuono Racing - just wondering if anyone owns Tuono Racing around here? What's your experience? Any advice for a potential newbie?

I have read varying reports on the Tuono being too hard edged or "focused" as a road bike - what's your experience?

Also looking at a '05 Triumph Speed Triple as well - so any comments to sway me one way or the other are welcome!!

Phil

I bought my racing just under a year ago, good decision!:cheersAbsolutely LOVE it:thumbup, was also considering a speed triple but all that carbon looks so good. This bike handles like the sportsbike it's based on but no back ache and the lack of fairing helps keep the speed sensible:dunno
Buy and you won't regret it but be prepared for a sore face from the grin inducing lunacy that comes with it

I'm sorry to here that:lolyou really need some twisties to appreciate what you've got

Not to worry about the Tuono being too hard edged. I purchased one primarily because it wasn't as hard edged as most of the sport bikes I rode. For me, the Ducati's were a rack, the Speed Triple wasn't hard edged enough and the Japanese sportbikes had no soul. The Tuono was just right. European character and exclusivity and an absolute blast to ride.

Apart from the Ohlins suspension/radial brakes/Oz wheels/carbon, it has a different fuel pump to the other Tuono's and a close-ratio gearbox.

In my experience it's not too great as a town bike (busy left foot/hand!) but loves the twisties and certainly turns heads. Generally, you feel great riding it as it's a special bike.

Just went to the dealer and Sat on the Speed Triple - that thing is HUGE (for me, seeing that I'm only 5'5")!

Quite heavy and bulky - not what I expected from what I've read about it!

The Tuono is looking good! :cheers
