Well after a couple of months of searching for an RSV-R and selling my Ducati Monster S4R, I now have one.

I found a 2005 in Silver with 6k on the clock and a lovely set of Akra cans - I pick her up next weekend.

The first thing I want to do is get the Optimate hooked up :). I'm worried though, that when I attach the leads for this that stay on the bike, I will have to disconnect the battery terminals - will the clocks will reset.

Can't wait to put some miles on her :D - will post up some pics asap.

hi bud no they wont reset but if you have a alarm fitted make sure you put it in sevice mode before you disconect or reconect the battery incase you spike it ,it done it with me its a pain in the *** to sort out datatool veto evo not sure :dunnoif it does it with others though . oh and enjoy your new toy mate :thumbup

As above, Datatool S4 Red into immobilised only or winter mode, disconect batt , connect wires, restart datatool, jobs a goodun.
Had batt off a couple of times, no clock resets or probs at all.

By reset do you mean loose the time, trip miles, rev light and defaulting to KMH? My 2003 does, but they are easy to reset. I have the manual section printed out that I could scan and email (if your clocks are the same) I realise that a 2005 may be different.

Thanks all - the concern was that the odometer would zero itself. I don't think it has an alarm, but assume they all have imobilisers from the factory. I will have a read of the manual before reaching for the spanners :D.

Thanks again
