Few bits of advice if you would please

My gen 1 is goin in for a power commander and dynobike in a few weeks but I need to sort the exhaust and filter before it goes! So my questions are

Which aftermarket air filter? I'm tempted with k&n
Which exhaust can? Been told FUEL are good quality
And are there any other things you would do before it goes in?

I'm on a budged of sorts so won't be paying out £500 for a can but not after one of these £120 cans with no name

I had my gen 1 dynoed last year. Made a huge difference as I already had a PC III fitted but not properly set up on a dyno. The can is down to a personal choice - I wanted a shorter can so went with a Mivv GP. Different cans can make a difference but once the fuelling is sorted with the PC and the dyno, I honestly don't think there will be a huge difference between cans performance wise.
I run with a K&N filter but Pipercross also very good apparently.
The only other thing I would consider is whether you are going to run with baffles in or out on the can. I had my dyno time with the baffles out, we actually removed it before putting the bike on the dyno and that was how the bike was set up. But after riding home the noise was incredible but just too much so the baffle went back in. The bike still runs great but will be a bit leaner now.
Whatever you decide, it's definitely money well spent.
 
Akras all the way only paid 600 for the full system.
Mine has full system akra k and n and a chip from gabro 75 euros and it runs lovely 129bhp and 84lb/ft on 2 different dynos
 
Unfortunately I don't have that sort of of money to spend on the exhaust, I would rather it be set up correct with a power commander as iv just plug and played before and yes you gain but not as good as when things are set properly by someone who knows what they are doing
 
For what it's worth, I just picked up a pair of ex demo carbon fibre Gianellis for my gen 2 at $580.00 locally.
These came from an ex dealer. New they sold for $1400.00 @ 6 years ago.
All I did was walk in the door and ask if they had anything.
I don't know if you have anything similar locally, but it can be worth asking the question.
 
You will pay £500 for the pc3 and set up and maybe 200 for a can =700 a full system akra 600 plus a chip of gabro 75 euros = 660
 
The pc5 and set up is costing me 395 set up and fitted

I see what your saying about a chip but it's a generic map and is not forced to give as good response on one bike to another.

When I bought my tuono in 2009 the dealer had full Akro as a show piece , so bartered for that £600 + £100 fitted A map swap, Result!!!!!!!!!!
 
Ye so the likelihood of me getting one at that price is very slim! Especially for a gen 1!
 
i have just fitted full akra system,evo boxand new gabrio chip so i have.......an akra can,link pipe not mint but in pretty good nick,a k,n filter and a gabrio 2 map chip made for thie can and filter, the gen 1 .
just fit it and bingo....a lot of the guys on will vouch for me .....it runs peachy , goes like buggery and sounds the muts.. £230.00 delivered i will even fit it for you .
 
Mine just the same Roy and the noise is lovely when u give it a good seeing to thru the tunnels under the airport
 
Oh and mine been dynoed on 2 different dynos with 129 bhp and 84lb/ft and I have shortened the gearing no wonder it wheelies of the throttle in 3rd
 
here you go mush...there is a mark/dents under the carbon hanger but not seen when fitted..

listed this lot on e bay last night as buy it now 2.......9am this morning SOLD...£275.00 the guy who bought it has just come from southport paid cash well chuffed ..wants it for his track day tuono,:thumbup:yes thats the tyres for this year to cover easter boarders fud,,june af1 scottish hoon and belgium trip.....:whoop
 
yessir......i broke even on the parts...one mans gain another mans loss......i have a spare akra link pipe so if i want a change i can break down the twin system and revert back to the single just for a fud about with aldo
