Mine is Foggy, simply because he was the one who got me hooked to bike racing after driffting in and out.
Remember watching him fall off years ago, can't remember where or when. Think it was Assen second to last race and he needed a point to have a chance of winning the title. He picked the bike up out of the grass and road like a demon to get the point and I cried. Thier you go, thats what it should do.
Also loved Bayliss for his shear determination and bollox too.
Loved the old Bsb's with Mac and Whit etc,[show Shvly the Boost leathers] so many eh
Love Edwards, love Nicky Hayden. Love been round race tracks, love the smell the atmosphere the commoradary between the fans, the banter.
The undercard is just as exiting most of the time. Must admit to bing more of a Wsb man than Gp tho.
Foggy might have had 'attitude' but whoah what a man.

David Jefferies. Watching him at the TT he was simply head and shoulders above anyone and everyone.

We were standing at the bottom of Bray hill eating burgers with Robert Dunlop who was living in a house around the corner for TT weeks, drinking beer, beautiful sunshine.

All the guys came screaming past...

DJ though came SCREAMING past, a good 6-10mph quicker than anyone else. Shattered the lap record that day.

RIP big Dave.

Yep, Foggy got me into racing again. He had what was needed - selfishness! I got the impression he would have ridden over some people if he couldn't get past.

Also, Vale. He's brilliantly talented and obviously enjoys himself.

Yesterday's MotGP race was bloody awful though. Just like F1. Ever since it was changed to 800cc it's just lacked excitement for most races.

Barry Sheen. A legend in his day. Huge balls - which most of the girls found out about.
Young Leon Haslam too, good up & coming racer who doesn't crash much

agree with weeksy big dave at the tt awwwwwsome. leons dad rocket ron haslam . joey dunlop. guy martin. whitham . hislop . rob mac i can go on for ever hailwood , foggy . lawson ..... george formby . ha ha ha ha

My favourite has to be Rossi, simply awesome rider
Next would be Foggy for all the reasons already stated.

Lots of others deserve a mention though, including Steve Plater, John McGuiness, Nori Haga, Ruben Xaus and last but not least Mick Doohan, as every sport should have a world champion who still manages to get into a fight in a strip club at 3 in the morning :)

Very true though. Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner are both excellent racers, but they rarely get any votes in the hall of fame simply because they have/show little or no personallity.

Agreed. Never once heard Stoneface say anything good about a competitor.:thumbdown

sorry lads but I don`t really know any racers except our local hero, Foggy .
Him and his brothers were a force to be reckoned with down town . I got job were one of his brothers worked . I broken his wagon whilst he was on holiday.

I just look in shop windows , boy i`m gorgeous!!

got to be rossi, the ultimate racer and character. also loved schwantz, a proper balls out win it or bin it merchant. colin edwards for the way he used to ride the old yzf when he first came into world supers and because he tells it like he sees it. what a super star. and last but not least, little loris caparossi. the first time he got on the 990 ducati and span it up on every corner every lap.of every race. i was awestruck. heros one and all

First off, that shot of Foggy is a ******* classic!!! I have loved Foggy for years. His attitude made him a love 'im or hate 'im kinda thing. He was best when he was cornered...

Ago... haven't seen any one here reference Giacommo Agostini, the bar by which all others are measured. Holder of the some of the biggest trophies and records in motorcycle racing.

Loris... **** me that little *** ******* could throw that malevolent beast around the track. As small as he was and he tamed the Desmosedici. Nothing but respect for this man. Still ***** me up to see him in Rizla blue.

Bayliss... carrying on the Ducati tradition in WSB. A gentleman and bowed out when he was on top. Class act.

Vale.. Jesus, I am SUCH a dorky fan when it comes to Rossi. The man is absolutely brilliant! He hits the same dime on the corner 27 times during a race... And as he feels the wear on his tire he can shift his weight a millimetre, adjust his line a micrometre, and find some more contact patch. The man is genius on two wheels. He can supply feedback to his pit team so that his bike set up is perfect for the track. Couple this with the fact that he has a personality and that he STILL genuinely likes to get on a motorcycle and go fast. It isn't "just a job". He still LOVES to race! He still has FUN!!

All in all, I respect the majority of these boys. Colin is a journeyman, a veteran that deserves utmost admiration from all of us punters. Never the best, but always a rider to watch for. Shinya Nakano... racing for so many years and no one seems to remember his name...

I could go on and on. Yes I am jealous. I wish that I could make a living out of going fast on a motorcycle. Instead I will continue to live vicariously through these men that make it look so easy and fluid when I know the reality of moving these machines that we love so much through those esses, chicanes, and sweepers is a lot ******* harder than it looks.
