As for my Dad, well, he's never really been a fan of bikes, due mostly to the fact that my mum didn't really approve. We do joke though, my Dad & me, as he always seems to think that when a bike turns it leans the wrong way - probably due to all those years in the RAF banking planes :biggrin

You know, apart from those already mentioned, I always used to enjoy watching Kevin Shwantz - and now, Bayliss is the man - he just never gives up or makes excuses, what a pro. :thumbup

It's most certainly the late great Barry Sheene for me as my all time favourite racer,It was my father that got me intrested in bikes all his brothers(7 of them) had bikes so I grew up with bikes in the family.As far as other racers that i liked were the likes of Greame Crosby riding that Morawaki Kawasaki with the straight handle bars in the transatlantic series back in the late 80's.
As for modern day racers Valentino Rossi is a great natural talent and to add to what other people have already said David Jefferies was also an idol to me, to watch such a big lad abuse a bike like he did on those road circuits was fantastic it was a big loss to the sport when he was tragically killed at the IOM

yeah big un ill look for your bike if you see a bloke walking round with a pair of **** on a t shirt thats me /my bike is a 2003 millie matt lack with a blue flame evo on and 41 stickers .later, jeff(leatherface)

i get on great with popa too,he loves bikes,and although he doesnt ride anymore,he lives his love of riding through me and my bro now,and he loves looking after the bike,he's always changing the oil or lubind the chain and adjusting it and checking its all safe ect.just last year he was still blasting around on his old r1 at 60yrs old,and boy was he fast.he used to race the sidecars with his old buddy and boss charlie freeman(who has a corner named after him at cadwel).here he is,taken last year....

Guess my favourite racer is pretty much anyone who gives the road racing a go, I'm totally amazed everytime I see isle of man t.t. footage!!!


As for the getting into bikes it was my neighbour who did it for me,he used to sit me on the petrol tank of an early eighties kawasaki and ride up and down our street when I was about 4 years old(my mother still wishes she hadn't let him do it!!)

cool pops big un. did you get down to mfn was a good night saw about 14 millies some rich dude landed on the football pitch in his helicopter then when he took off he put the nose don so rotors where very low thought he was gonna chop our heads off ..yeah cool dad im the only one in my family but i sat on sheenes heron suzuki rond about 1975/6 .it was outside a dealers in somercotes along side his team mates who i cant remember who it was

didnt get down buddy,been sorting the new garage out so i can get my bike in it (fitting ground anchors and wiring the electrics up ect) as i keep over at my dads,but were nearly ready to move into our new house and i want my bike with me now,as ill be further away from dads house.didnt get done till 6pm and all my mates set off at 5pm,so itll be next week now.was it nice and busy mate? any feds up there? im gunna have to get a clear visor before i get fukd.lol
