On the same subject of fans but with a slight twist, has anyone noticed whether their fans stay running after you switch off. Both my Kawasaki's had permanent live fans, so that when you stopped on a hot day and the fans where on, they would stay running until the temp came down. on occasions they fans would start up a few seconds after the bike was switched off as the heat rises in the cylinder heads to stop this excess heat causing damage.
I noticed that the RSVR doesn't do this and shuts the fans off when the ignition is switched off. i noticed this yesterday as i checked to see that my fans where indeed running, as they are very quiet. i noticed they switched off when i stopped the motor, i then switched the ignition back on and found that even this doesn't bring the fans back on, they are only powered when the motor is running. if you then watch the temp gauge with the ignition on you can see the temp rise due to heat rising in the heads towards the temp sender unit.

I wonder if anyone has modified them to have a permanent live so the fans protect the engine in this initial switch off phase.

Mine does it occasionally but only through the fault my fan relay seems to have and i have confirmed that the fans are cut off by the kill switch and the ignition, though i have had them keep going if i let the engine stall itself (if you have a half decent idle i dont know how you will do this)

Also, about the lower temp fan switches i am interested and also use paypal :thumbup i am not really near to southern cross tho, out of curiosity what temperature would be best? i have seen 65c and 80c versions
