The heat cooks the brake fluid so no matter what you do you have to move the m/c + bottle there is no other way.. its slap bang in between the engine an exhaust..

Thanks for the heat shield pic. Your bike is mint!!! I have an 07 also black/grey. I'm assuming the 2007.5 is when they changed the decals to the larger lion. Either that or they sold me an 06? After looking at the exhaust heat shield pic, this is the same one I already have fitted on mine. Do you think any of that exhaust wrap typically seen on custom harleys would help?

It was actually built as an '08 but thanks to the early date of manufacture, the VIN code makes it an '07...

I'm planning to wrap the pipes to try & keep everything cooler but the guys are right - the ultimate solution is to relocate the master cylinder away from the heat. In the meantime, I just don't use the back brake...

Bought a genuine Aprilia heat shield for mine and it made no difference, the brake still gradually lost pressure, also if just an heat issue why would the brake again lose pressure when just parked up? Done this since new.
As I posted, the only way I've found without all these other 'modifications' is to put some weight on the brake pedal when parked up which keeps the air out of the system and I've not had to re-bleed the brake for 18 months..
