Hi all,
Just picked my bike up and it's running lovely (injectors out of synch & co2 levels all over the place), but on the worksheet under issues to point out it says - standard eprom. Now I know this is in the ECU & I've seen different ones for sale on the bay etc... Is there an aftermarket one that is suitable for use with race can & K & N filter or would any gains be negligible?
Thanks for any replies in advance:thumbup

Have you had a dyno test to find that out Scott ? sorry i can't help you with the eprom question :roll I think i will get Fusebox to check mine if he's coming anywhere around my area on his "tour", especially now i've modded the airbox :biggrin

Hi guys,
I have been fiddling with eprom´s and the software on em.
I have compared about 10 eprom´s and the bigger part just have the original RP58 map in em.
These are sold as tuned eprom´s by Kaemna, P-line, Triton, Gianelli, MRO ect.
The reason why is because the early mille types had a Sport854 and later an A63 eprom.
These so called small valve engines would benefit greatly from the later developed RP58 eprom.
This one has a second derestricted map (wire cut) and both trim pots activated.
Aprilia a made a far better spark table and also fuelling was much more precise.
The derestricted map has the highest ignition advance used standard by Aprilia on these bikes.

This eprom is fitted in 2001-2003 models.
So you’re bike should have one.
With the secondary map activated it’s just right for open filter and open exhaust configuration.
Fuelling is ok but you might have a weak spot around 3000 rpm.
I sell adjusted eprom´s which eliminates the flatspot and cleans up the fuelling at high rpm.
It makes the bike very snappy ( a bit more spark advance in some areas) and linear throughout the whole rpm range.
It also makes it easier during city traffic.
If you are interested you could send me a PM.

Nope, haven't been dyno'd as yet matey ( frightened I might be significantly down on what I think the bike puts out BHP wise!)....Just curious really as to what the eproms exactly do & if it's worth shelling out on a different version.

:confused When Griff went to adjust the co on my bike, the chip was over riding the trim screws to adjust co.Griff opened the box up to see what chip was in it,but it was a plain unmarked chip,so no idea there.
Is this normal for this to happen, and how can i adjust co now.If i intend to fit a powercommander at some stage will this solve it and over ride the chip.:confused

DrRossi has sent a chip which was delivered very fast and has very good installation instructions. Haven't managed to get it fitted yet but hoping to do next weekend.

God I hate working weekends :( well worth taking the time and talking to DrRossi as he knows his stuff about the chips :) top bloke
