Engine Vibration High Revs

All the advice above as in parts to check out is good. I just had the throttle bodies balanced on my 01 Mille R road bike and although they were not that far out of ballance it has made a big difference to how smooth the bike runs (and idles).
Sensai, good to hear that you got the front fairing bracket sorted!

Just had call from shop, Yamaha 2006 Ltd (ohlins) 4pu-23145-01(-00 for US I think) fork seals dont fit only 8mm need 11mm even the Suzuki ones are 10mm?(could be wrong on this?) With reading people have had success with Suzuki and Yamaha seals cant find what stops seal from moving if to small? I have just ordered 04720-01 Ohlins. This is for 2001 RSVR for those doing search, if info helps.

Off topic but just part of whats going on with my Bike

Went for a ride today just before I got to my destination (30-40ks of hard riding) Rumble/Vibration came back when accelerating feels like it is going to blow but power still good, I know its not an inline and best to short shift but hill dosnt cater for gear change before corner to short a distance. It was even there on deceleration, Cant work out why I get so far into trip before it happens? Bolt came out of carbon heat shield on exhaust while fixing I touched the frame and found it realy hot, couldnt hold finger on it swing arm hot, heal kickers hot, steering head warm. There must be some heat transfer from engine but this seems to be excessive? Starting to worry now as I cant afford to fix engine as on ACC not sure what you have over seas but pretty much means you work(dont work-Cant work) for the goverment when you ****** yourself up crashing TBI)Things I want to check is TB Balancing CO set Im no mechanic far from it just a rider so once it gets to technical Im ******. I dont want to go back to Jap inlines as RSVR is so rewarding when you get it right but it has been the most hands on bike I have ever owned even more than my Motard changing from dirt to Tarmac/racing Motard. Iv had some great help from a few guys on here and have checked what has been reccomended. I cant give rev details as this is another issue I cant resolve even with resetting it and per info just goes back to where it wants given up on that. Any help would be great. Would Crank issues cause this:dunno

What oil are you running in the bike? (I ran a ZX6R with 5W40 many years ago and it rattled and rumbled like a steam train)

Would you say this rumble only happens after being ridden hard?

Is the oil filter a genuine Aprilia filter?

Is the oil level spot on?

Do you think that it could be that you're just used to the smoothness of an IL4? My 2001 RSV rumbles, rattles and generally hates being taken above 9500RPM, these are not high revving beasts?

Just a thought Cranked how old is your chain ?? had a problem with a chain on my GSXR K3 1000 it would shudder after it got hot from riding found it was a link that the O-ring had broken on & let the grease out of would nip up when hot & create a tight spot which would vibrate . Worth a look :dunno

Is the oil filter a genuine Aprilia filter? No Hi Flow
Is the oil level spot on? Yip got it sorted now was over fill last change bout 10mls in airbox.
What oil are you running in the bike? Silkolene pro4 as I had a good run with clutches in KTM Motard(KTM NZ Sponsered oil) after burning clutch each meeting with Motorex Race oil no slipper clutch which is what I needed I think.

Gets to a point where it comes on so not an inline thing I think. The RSVR is just so bloody cool that it is hard not to get carried away I,v ridden some hot bikes but there is something about this one that is a bit special just rewarding for effort you put in I think.

Maybe Im paranoid maybe I need to run a semi oil or like Sensei says chain. Bike has 9000km on the clock but has sun damaged decals so my guess It has at for a while as it was still restricted at 5500ks when I got it?

Sensei I have checked chain again and again still not convinced Ill check again as get the feeling it could be some thing like that with it coming on late in my ride maybe wheel bearing on its way out overheating:dunno
Ill keep perservering as I want this bike to work out and do some BEARS/Street racing with it once its sorted

i can't help with the vibration mate but wanted to say the bike looks stunning. I love the shotgun exhausts of the sp and i would persever with until its sorted.

Over the years i've had a wide range of bikes from singles to triples and fours. I never had to do any work or had any problems with a single one of them until i bought my first ape. I bought it brand new and still had problems/faults. For me though the are worth it as i just love the way they handle and sound. Its the passion and half that passion is getting your hands dirty i think:dunno

Spare Bed here anytime dude , Make sure you use Mobil 1 4T racing bike oil not the plan car Mobil 1 as that is just a motor oil & not designed for wet clutches it will be to slippery for the plates . Pay $80 for 4L here . Frame hot during summer " Hell yea " where the side grills are by the seat sometime you think ya leg is burning , don't forget the rear cylinder doesn't get much air flow around it & it is hidden away under all that panel work & tank . You can make some small ducting tubes to get more air from the front of the bike with abit of tubing that can help out .

New Plymouth / Taranaki , thats what my shop does it for to the public . :thumbup

Cool whats my special price LOL think thats the way Ill go next as I lost my job in Bikeshop today for being on ACC to long so need a new sorce for cheaper oil.
Im trying to talk a couple of Aprilia mates into doing a trip up north maybe Woodville Westpac helicopter run or something like that as Iv done a couple before.

I think I may have found bike problem (maybe havnt done the cain he arse off my bike test yet) but rev counter is working, Battery terminals bit more than finger tight positive had a white terminal and you could move the lead with hand. Fingers crossed seems to simple

Hi Guys,
Anyone ( kiwi's) going to Greymouth over labour weekend, maybe meet up, ******** about bikes and have a few beers,...I feel left out, my 02 runs sweet as after a load of work.
Forget the north island man, head south, fast roads, less constabulary and then later the Bert Munro rally in Invercargill in November.
cheers
