Electronic aids whats your preferance

i also don't like electrics. BUT i'm researching a bit, i'd like abs on the back brake for street riding. i use the back brake quite often during corners to stabilise the bike, i've got a very agressive riding style. the reason for abs on the back is that sometimes i hit some sand/oil/etc. that i don't see and altough i haven't had HUGE problems with the loss of traction it would be great to make my brake not stop the back wheel. sliding is ok and i quite like it but the rear wheel stopping when you are sliding isn't that much fun. i hope i expressed myself well enough...

Whats not to like if it save a few lifes. You don't have to buy a bike with all the Electronics .
I'm not a great fan but it would have probably saved me from outriding the limits of my bike, and crashing at Snett this year.

Maybe. How did you crash?

I`v got nothing against electronics.
Just doesnt appeal to me.

Rode off the edge of the tyre foot peg dug in lifted the tyre then it highsided me,broken arm bust tendons and bike writen of .
May consider getting a bike with traction control ,but still think its better to control myself ?

Then it wouldnt have helped mate.
TC would have only helped if you`d crashed by losing the rear by too much throttle.

The question is once you`v learnt to trust a safety net, what happens when its not there?

I know this one.

You hit the floor and it hurts. But only if you fall off.

:biggrin

ah, oops :/

Had just traded the old 750F2N in for my first Falco at Matlock Motorcycles and was riding home on the Cat and Fiddle. It was pissing down and I was going too fast for the conditions. Ran out of talent, grip, and luck.

Fortunately the Falco was delayed just long enough for me to get the Honda fixed (sort of).:thumbup

lol very honest appraisel there.

Someone I know did the same, and doubt they would give the same lol

If you can't be honest with yourself you'll never learn from your mistakes. I haven't had another situation even close to that since and I've ridden in far worse conditions.

Sometimes you just have to admit that you were at fault as I was on that day. What made it worse was that I had my son on the back. He was 14 at the time. Fortunately he wasn't hurt but I still remember the phone call to his mum and her 'comments' when we finally made it home on the back of the recovery truck.:roll
