Decisions On A Purchase

Factory all the way, i got my ohlins set up for my weight and how i ride and Jesus they are good.... but you cant ride like a ***** coz they only come into thier own when your giving it some sausage!!!!

Hi matey, read all the above and wonder ????????/

If you can afford it then go for the factory ,if not then the "R" will be just as good .
The Ohlins suspension on the factory IS a better option and the carbon bits look nice (both dear to replace after a fall) but Mr. Aprilia hasn`t spent ???$£ etc testing all options just to sell c***bikes.
I know you will be happy with either and you can set the suspension on the "R" as well as on the factory.
None are rubbish.

Good post Hmin. I think we forget the rubbish we rode years ago, and thought they were the b's & e's. I mine when I lusted after some marzocchi piggy backs for mi Mark 1 Le Mans. I think in general terms an T R is more than enough for most people. Nothing wrong with buying what you want though but I struggle to see that I would be much better a rider with Ohlins over Stock to be honest. Saying that there might be some really really fast guys on here that would notice the difference, but I'm sure they would out pace me on a T with shot, stock suspension, even if I had the best Ohlins in the world.

I had a gen 1 factory and didnt adj anything so probably never experienced the full value of a well set up suspension. I thought that maybe the Ohlins would be more beneficial on track.

I do believe the ohlins suspension will smooth out the ride better when set up.

This doesn`t mean the R suspension is not up to the job.
