hi dudes,
got a rsv1000r. great bike. last couple of time i started it i got a small amount of coolant leaking from top radiator hose. it stops dripping after about a minute. this time the bike seam to get hot very quickly. anyone with any ideas.

Hi Steve welcome to the site mate :thumbup I had a similar prob with my RSVR 02 but is wasn't the hose it was the rad ! The near side rad had split where the top bracket is welded to it. This bracket is very close the the top hose so just check carefully where the leak is coming from pal. If it is the rad is very easy to replace yourself, even stupid plasterer's like me can do it :pirate

its cool

cheers dude. checked system and found the rubber hoses at top and bottom were actually leaking where they conect to a ally tube secion. replaced both clamps with new jubes. seems to have solved problem. thanks for advice.:thumbup

The first thing I did when I picked mine up in january of this year was to replace all the cooling system clamps. Those "crimp" types aren't worth their scrap metal value! You got the better clamps that are radiused so they don't cut the hoses and smooth on the inside? Good. Hope so. If you haven't "burped" the radiator, look on this forum for this process. Worth the time.:thumbup

Hi Steve,
I had the same problem with mine. I think the thermostat bypass is too small & it builds up too much coolant pressure before the thermostat opens. As Chris said, ditch all those crimp clamps & replace them with proper gear clamps. I even did the fuel lines after the one on the throttle bodies started to leak after the first service...

cool is good
