I was afraid when the cold weather comes problem will come back. Bike doesn't want to start easily. Every morning I'm having this problem it goes away if the bike is warm. Battery is fine tested with hi amp battery - same results. Full service done recently at Griffs + recent tune up few weeks ago as well. Axone shows some general electric fault if starts from cold and not showing when bike is warm.
Troubleshooting steps done so far: Replaced clocks, ecu - all good. Cleaned airbox min regulation valve. Had a look at temp sensor, seems to be working fine I guess, but the data was different from the manual (2.2kOhm instead 2.5kOhm at 20celcius).
I don't know if someone might had similar problems? Any advise is welcome. Thanks
 
Sounds like a fueling issue to me. Like its running lean. If it had a choke I'd say it wasn't on, that type of thing - sorry for sounding fick, but you get my drift. My bike has done it once, was onlt running on 1 pot for a few seconds ebfore chiming in.
 
I agree, but all fueling is controlled by something like electronic choke - now me sounding fick ))) but its not ECU

Ignition advance??Dont think they have been used on a bike since the '60's.You sure its not acold start mixture enriching lever?
Anyroadup,the Gen 2 is different and uses a stepper motor as a 'choke'.

that's the one - stepper motor, which was cleaned and checked. I found the article with the similar symptoms and it was faulty stepper motor. I think i will have to order a new one to try and swap.
 
had a look at stepper motor today and checked the phase resistance between terminals A-D which is 48ohm instead manuals 50ohm. Do you think it can be the sign of faulty motor?
 
Sounds like the stepper could be ok,......maybe its one of the sensors?
Could'nt help but notice you seemed to be twisting the throttle as the bike was trying to start,.....you should'nt need to do that.You could be flooding the bike.
 
Less than a year old but I can rule that out as it starts fine when the bike is warm. Also had a look at the stepper today morning and works as it should.
 
low temperature = low battery voltage (or ampage)
low battery voltage = even lower cranking voltage
low cranking voltage = wrong sensor readings (if you dont put the right voltage in a sensor your never gonna get the right voltage out)
wrong sensor readings = bad starting
i notice on the video your cloccs were flashing on and off (low voltage)
people often overlook the obvious and assume its something serious
we will only fit yuasa batterys where we work as the others are too much hastle
i work on these every day by the way
as your last comment said (its ok when the weather is warm) thats classic sign of a weak battery
 
to rule that out we used jump starter and I also used YTX14-BS (westco) which has higher ampage - result the same. Even after the bike has started couple of minutes after if you blip the throttle and close it the bike can die.
 
might sound daft but they dont like jumper packs or starter packs even connected to the existing battery
belive me and i know it dont make sence
first stop is a new yuasa battery that has been conditioned properly
 
they also don't like new Westco YTX14-BS straight from optimiser? Reading through the forum posts its more likely fueling or electric issue (wiring, sensors etc.)
 
Anybody tried 'Wynns Dry Fuel'?
Suppose to take moisture out the fuel and ease starting, used it a bit on the Bandit through the winter.
