Fitted my Evo Ti chip today and......

OMFG what an animal it has become, pulls clean from tickover then @5k it just wheelies and takes off big time then change up and it kicks you up the arse and pulls your arm out again and the same happens with every gear change until you run out of road....

That is all carry on I just had a little bit of man wee come out and had to share it!!

I hav ethe same chip and the bike wont run with it, it has a 2nd circuit board under the chip with 2 smaller chips on the underside. Is yours the same ? or do you remove the actual top chip only?

Thanks

This http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk240/Jollygiant13/IMAG0128-1.jpg is what I have in.
I have posted what I did in you original thread here http://www.tuonozone.com/forums/showthread.php?5758-Aprilia-race-chip I really don't know what I did I just know I left it for a while and kept turning the ignition on and off , flicked the kill switch a couple of times and connected the DIAG wires to gether and un-did them and it worked.

I put both the sister board in under the Evo chip and made sure the notches are the same side. I earthed myself while changing chips by grabbing the radiator in doors which is earthed!

Thanks for the quick reply, definetely the same chip and might give what you said a go tomorrow night. Already got the matching pipe on but havnt rode it yet, just fired it up. Im not hopeful it will work but its an easy enough job to try.

No probs hope it works out for you. But if not you can just snip the wire going into ECU to get in into the 2nd standard map.

There are lots of wires, Just got the bike last thursday and really dont want to cut wires without knowing im doing the right thing. Is it a particular colour wire as there are two jack plugs that go into the brain.

Mine was cut when I got it. I'll take a pic tom for ya.
Where do you live heds??

Thanks for all the help guys, when I looked the wire had already been cut. Put the Evo chip in again but kept the wires connected to the ECU when I did it and it fired up straight away, god knows what I did wrong first time. Took it out for a quick 10 mins tonight and the sound is just awesome, pulls like a train and pops back when I throttle off. Out for a run to Scarbrough tomorrow with the lads and cant wait.
Great forum, appreciate the helpful advice.

LOL, Sorry Bay, I may be new to the forum but not to bikes. First time I took the ECU out and plugged it back in but tonight I kept it plugged in while I removed the chip. Mainly because I couldnt be arsed to reset the MPH clocks, time etc.

When I unplugged them the 1st time the clocks read in KMPH and the time was reset aswel. Not a big job to reset just a pain in the arse as you need to read the manual to sort it. Mines a 55 plate but its the 1st model so really is a 2004 spec bike.

Same here on the gen 1 bike. Cracking motor. Have you had sprockets changed as well to 16/44

TBH Bay I have only really had about 2 hours on the bike in total since I got it last Thursday due to work etc and I want a real good ride out before I start changing sprockets. Out most of tomorrow and just need some miles as its a big change to a 750 SRAD and a Gas Gas trialer that I normally ride. Everyone says the sprockets are worth changing and I will count up whats on and have a go. I did drop the gearing on the Gixxer which helped but all that thing wants to do is rev to the moon. Whats the std gearing?

17/42. 16/44 just means it's a lot quicker on acceleration bit smoother aroun town as you're in 2nd gear and not between 1st and 2nd wondering what to choose. U don't lose much top end which is unusable on normal road doing anyway. Jay a good mod everyone does and might be on yours already
