Trouble is your bringin a 3rd possible weak link into play, yes a crash bung is strong but as nobody knows the strength of every individual crash bung, for instance, i sell you a stand, you say you want a crash bung attachment, unbeknown to me your bike has been down the road and the crash bung is damaged, you get stand and attachment and put ya bike on, crash bung snaps, bike on the floor, you then take me to court so on and so on. in my opinion the stand is what it is, no fancy attachments for this and that

Fair comment, and in fact I agree with you. That's why I decided after much thought to step away from producing strengthened aftermarket suspension linkage plates. It's a piece of piss to do and cheaply as well, but after wading through all the posts over on AF1 I decided I didn't want the possible repercussions.

As for the stand mine would have to be universal in the the same way as the original to cater for both my bikes. Anything I make or mod will be subject to Finite Stress Analysis anyway so I shouldn't come to grief and should something fail or fall........then only got myself to blame.

Being unemployed and having unlimited time to enjoy SolidWorks has it's plus side :thumbup Although a job would be very welcome, anyone got a vacancy for a CNC programmer/operator with Cad-Cam & Solid modelling design and inspection experience?

When im happy alls well with the stand i.e its stable when working on the bike it will be sent for stress and destruction tests, as my copy of the Abba stand was, as you know you need the certs so your product liability will cover said item, as ive said i made it for me not others, although there is alot of interest and it seems to have found its way to 7 other forums that im aware of, so maybe i will go into production with them, but only when alls sorted with no chance of failure.

That is awesome 3 days to a working prototype, put my name down for one when its finished.:thumbup

Maybe a stupid question but would it be possible to remove the swingarm with this stand? I know that you can't with the abba stands but they sell a kit which allows you to.
