looks an excellent piece of kit, however at 350 Euro's that's one expensive stand

Not cheap for sure but having experienced a normal swingarm type stand snap and costing much more than that in bike damage + nearly dropping my bike using other types i was lookin for something ***** proof :biggrin

Looks like a well designed piece of kit that is sure to prove useful to anyone who undertakes their own bike maintenance.

€350 is a lot of money but what's the alternate, a ramp that takes up 60% of your garage all the time, nah didn't think so - Bargain....!

Mmmmm, SolidWorks project coming up soon I reckon.

Was going for a Abba type copy but having seen that I'll do a bit of investigation and see how that design will adapt. :inlove

weld the braces on and sort the canterlever handle and bobs ya knob :doug

Who's been a busy boy then ?

Will that butt weld on the main upright be strong enough on the thin wall tube,it looked on the original to be welded inside the outer arms?

Anyway fair doos, nice job indeed Sir :thumbup

Will dwg's or models be available?

If ya pause youtube and move the red button it acts like freeze frame and you can see all the detail, it shows it on the top, anyway there will be no stress on that weld as off each horizontal leg a brace is welded onto the main vertical

You could very well be correct and I forgot about the bracing arms anyway :thumbup

But if you look at 1.34 into this vid

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPA7v6psDWw&NR=1

I assumed as an engineer that it was welded AGAINST the internal faces top and bottom and the bisecting leg mitred around it and welded the same. No matter.

Anyway well done and full credit for doing the job, is it a ''get it this far and work out what's next'' job or working from a solid model ?

What sizes SHS are you using ? I'm going to model this up when I can find the time.

that is brilliant. I was thinking of getting a ramp next year to give myself a better angle of attack. The abba is good but i'm forever kneeling or lying on the floor. That stand would raise the bike enough to work on, take up less space and cost about the same as a ramp

Mines finished, piece of piss to make, ands as smooth and effortless as fooook :doug:doug

When you gonna start knocking them out for forum members then? :devious

How much did it cost in materials and how long did you spend making it up?
