I blip the throttle too when downshifting. I've grown so accustomed to doing it, that not doing it seems unnatural.

Regarding clutchless upshifts, never tried it. Only worth doing it on the track, IMO.

What's the point of having a fook-orf v twin and NOT blipping on the downshifts?

It's expected. :yes

gordep, Its wicked mate, I only tried it last week and it makes, real hard acceleration safer in my opinion, smoother and most important of all faster:drool

I was once going into a corner a bit hot, changed down & felt the back wheel lock up, bit of a slide.

So, I am not too impressed with Aprilia Slipper clutches, may-bee because the back wheel was on the point of being air-bourne does not help.

I too am a throttle blipper, more so since I fitted those fruity cans, like Tifa says, its expected.

The cutch is to suspend drive from them gearbox not really want you want when trying to accelerate. thats why we have quickshifters

Yep thats what its for Grin, no point in clutchless changes and quickshifters, we might as well have a *** and a cup of tea between gears.:banghead

Now youve got it fd, if you use the clutch to go up and down the gears all it gives you is arm pump why use it to go up the gears when you can go faster with out it

no good for me then as i always blip on the downshift, just cant resist the sound !!

Ditto & I usually use the clutch on upchanges unless I'm going for it, find I need to hang on with a firm grip using both hands with my weight forward to keep the front wheel on terra firma. But the exhilleration is something else.

You should not hold the bars any firmer than you would a pencil , a good test to see if your riding position is too stiff is too flap your arms like a chicken (really) if you can’t , relax a bit
You hold the bike with your knees...............

Please feel free to ignore me I’m sat in an office wishing I was out instructing lol

do it myself.. but thats only because i can't get tucked down behind the cut down mille screen on my millono to be able to hold on the the bars at anything over 70 lol ..

tbh i wouldn't downshift without the clutch.. have a mate that has just bent a selector fork on his 99 SRAD 600 clutchless downshifting.. would cost him alot of money to repair.. only he has a good friend that knows how to work at a motor :thumbup
