Chain adjustment

Also when you go to tighten the spindle nut sit a 3/8 ratchet extension bar on top of the bottom chain run and turn the back wheel until it gets trapped between the chain and sprocket (don't force the wheel just push it until you feel resistance) then holding the wheel there tighten the nut, this pulls the back wheel forward and makes sure the spindle blocks are hard up against the adjuster bolts.



what a feckin good tip that bagster, never heard of that one before, makes bloody good sense though.. cheers.
 
after much time, effort and dosh doing up the kitchen, Mrs Smudger is now now a happy bunny and will let me play motorbikes again without getting an earfull. So onto the chain adjustment, is it my toolkit and/or my useless spannering skills or has anyone else found that the rear spindle nut chews up very easily. I used a 32mm 12 point socket that just wanted to slip off the nut all the time, I aint damaged it to the extent that it now not useable but if I 'm not carefull in the future it will be shagged. Any tips peeps
