Buying an '04 RSV 1000 R factory - please help!

I do not intend to order from USA, even if they ship the darn thing, the sale price is equivalent of 40% of the total cost, customs, shipping etc. And it lasts a freaking month or two (season goes byebye). So that's no option for me.

Are there any European sites with this part, or is the part from newer RSVs sufficient in it's design?

As far as i am aware, all years from 04 on are the same. Also I read somewhere that someone has looked at the V4 links to see if they fit, but it is of different geometry. The only ones that are on the market that i know of are the ones from AF1, and cost $50. So in the UK about £30 plus shipping =£50 ish total. That for me is a small price to pay to save my arse. None of us worry about paying £100's for some loud cans that give only a few BHP more, plus loads more noise do we? So i think £50 not too much to worry about. Just my 2p worth.

Went for a thorough look today, it didn't start, hehe. :uhoh
The batt. is new though, but the bike just hasn't been used.

BUT I had jump leads in the trunk of my Alfa, so one Italian work of art gave life to another, and I got to ride the bike! :doug

The swingarm has been replaced, the suspension link thingys also.
Brake fluid and oil are obviously new.
The clutch needs bleeding, the forks need new o-rings and the rear brake needs that heat shield, or should I consider it as ABS?... :biggrin
The digital display is not working a 100%, it's missing the top and lower bar of the middle number (instead of 8 it's showing H), but no biggie.

Other than that the bike is seriously mint, it's on freakin 2003 Supercorsas!
He lowered the price for another couple hundred and that's it. Driving it home tomorow! :thumbup

Thanks for all your help guys, see you around :cool2
