Hey everyone, as some if you know I just picked up my 2004 Tuono for cheap and want to make it a bit faster for cheap. What I'm up to so far is a cheap slipon and a k&n air filter. I'm looking at cutting the wire for map2 or a new EPROM? Which is better? I'm also looking at the 1st gen Mille air boxes and removing the carbon filter, anything else? What would you all recommend? I'm going to keep this for a bit but it is my first bike. Thanks in advance

Hey, and welcome!

"Your first bike"!!!

I'd leave it as standard for at least 6 months and get used to its already immense power before trying to tune it further!!

The last guy on this forum who migrated from his first bike, which he passed his test on... to a Tuono, ended up riding it through a hedge within a few months!

Yeah I plan on keeping it stock for the time being til I'm used to it but I have a place to keep the parts and a garage to slowly add them on. Right now though I need a new chain and sprockets and was gonna go one up, two down on the sprockets. Where is the best place to get those cheap? One of the custom cut places or eBay for Tuono specific ones?

Hi Camo,
You want to go down 1 (front) up 2 (rear) in terms of sprockets which should give you 15/42 which seems to be the preferred or 16/44 which is about the same.

I understand the standard Gen1 for USA versions are 16/42, so the recommended set up of 1 down 2 up, will be 15/44.

JT Sprockets in UK do cheap, quality sprockets direct and via eBay. May be cheaper sourcing from a USA supplier, although with Brexit, the pound is weaker to the dollar, so you could be in for a bargain! ;)

Cool thanks you two, that will be on my next eBay order then. Does anyone have the Gen 1 manual they can send me? I keep finding Gen 2 or Mille manuals and I'm not sure which info transfers over between the two.
