Brown Plug in good nick shall I chop it out?????

It could well be m8 as the thinner guage batt side of the white plug would cause more resistance I suppose.

I finished my wiring yesterday, here is the soldered finished result

All the cable I have used is heavier guage as the yellow ac wire coming form genny..........ok as for voltage results, they are all still the same as last readings even after soldering but hey it was still an improvement on the original readings .........although I did think afterwards that I have uprated the dipped beam bulb and 1 of the main beam bulbs so thay are probably sucking more juice outta the system!!!!!!!!

Bought myself a Roxio battery conditioner to keep it in top condition...............although I only have a standard ctx12 battery and original 50amp solenoid
Upon pressing the starter there is a definitive pause befroe the starter starts winding over.....................new c/ytx battery and 150 amp solenoid on the shopping list I suppose............
Took it out for a quick spin when I finished the wiring and putting it back together then it was :biggrin:biggrin:biggrin all the way so much torque 'mmmmmmmmmm yeh and the roar from the akro is just music to my ears I'm :inlove

Glad to hear hope the pics made it easier for you I'm gettin the same so it deffo works a treat!!
Have you done the headlight mod as if you have all three lights running on main beam, charging voltage will drop to around 12v as the system was not designed to run it but then again you shouldn't run for too long with main beam on!!
Nice yellow rsvr what year is it? Those pipes look cool do they sound as good as they look??

Cool ride very nice......... here's pics of mine as of this arvo'''

Put a few decals on cleaned the wheels and all is ready for new solenoid /14ah batt, then as time/dosh allows all the juicy bits like
CNC fork adjusters, couloured bar ends, billet resevoir cap etc. etc.

I did not cut mine out mainly because I did not have to.

I do inspect regularly, but my first action was disassembly of the terminals from the connector and do a "mechanical drag check" on each pair of opposing terminals. All three had no tension at all, so I gave the female ends a slight mash with my crimpers. With what I thought should be a proper connection, I reassembled and gooped the terminals with Dow-Corning DC-4 silicon GREASE, (not the silicon adhesive, don't do that. DC-4.) in an attempt to water seal. After 25,000 miles, there has been no heat damage. I will say the brown connector gets warm while running, but only warm.

I just cut both the plugs out. I thought what the ****, might aswell do both while im at it. Did it a while ago, but thats as far as i went.
Those MOSFET reg/rec's look the way to go if you can pick one up at the right price.

What wire to buy?

I need to buy Wire to do this mod. What do i ask for?

Also do we attach both the Wires running off the reg/rec side of the White Connector to the Positive Side of the Battery?

Many Thanks.

I spliced my wires in the regulator side for less resistance..............as for wire get some 3 core domestic cable should be adequate of an old electrical appliance thats broke o you don't use anymore.............

Reading your next quote....I'd say that you do.

If your connector is getting warm, then there is a high resistance at the connector. It's going to fail..sooner or later.
The fix is simple and cheap, there is no logical reason to keep that POS connector in there.

Yes i see there on the regulator side, but on the other end of the Wires do BOTH the Battery Connectors go on the Positive side of the Battery?

Now Im away to chop up the Missus hairdryer. Lol :devious

check diagram on page 1 of this thread supplied by fogg vry clear and will show you how it needs to be wired you will have 2 wires going to the positive side and 2 wires to the negative side but you can just put one larger ring connector on the end of the 2 wires each side........
