Well doc, you're certainly asking all the right questions. If it's smiles per miles you're after then there's no better bike IMHO on the market. I was lucky enough to ride a friends Ducati 998s and i have to say i was very disappointed by it, very agricutural compared to the Aprilia. In fact after an hours riding i hated the bloody thing, but that's just my opinion, too small, too vibey, poor mirrors, and if you think the RSVR's got a poor back brake well. I just couldn't get on get on with it but then again everyone's wants are different. As has been posted previously you need to organise a test ride on the RSVR. I susepct it'll be totally differeent to any bike you've ridden before. I came from an 2000 model R1 and i have to say it was a great bike but in terms of pure riding experiance the Aprilia wins hands down. True it's hasn't got the HP of the R1 but boy oh boy does the Aprilia give you something back in terms of pure riding experience. Yes they have their quirks and yes they need a little pampering but accept that and it's bloody great fun
Go on doc you know you want to :thumbup
