Hello All
My brake reservoir cap is looking naff any one know of any good after market options rather than stock.
i cannot stop reading this site as you all seem to know so much stuff even if half of it goes right over my head.:confused
How do you tell a genuine UK bike from parallel / import noticed that there seem to be so many different colour schemes and decals even on same year bikes, up at Devils Bridge this Sunday morning 9am there was 4 different milles all looking total different on same year as mine ,some had v60 sticker on rear some don't some have a flash on tail some have broken lines .
Notices on my v5 says engine number not known and does not state first registered in uk any were, the use and maintenance book is very cheap looking and the first supplier of the bike was not a Aprilia dealer so the service book with pdi and 1st service(483 miles )is stamped be them then the 12 mth inspection is by a different independent.
The bike rides well ,did not cane her however she loves to drop low into corners and come out the other side with a vengeance and that is the sort of riding I am after doing.
Got pins and needles in throttle fingers is that to be expected.:angry.
Men in yellow van on A6 near Preston taking pics only around 1 in 20 drivers/bikes flashed or give us the thumbs down to inform however at least some did. lets hope them who don't inform get there comeuppance.
Cheers Wilky.

RE-MC rez covers try---probolt, rhizoma or some nice CF ones
They are vibey motors but if you are getting pins and needles you are holding on too tight, use yer legs to grip the tank and use a lighter touch on the bars.
cheers CK

I used to get terrible pins and needles in my hands and arms when I first started riding.

One word covers it all

RELAX

You'll find it will handle better and you will be naturally quicker.

I will try my best only just passed my test in the year 1978 and been riding most of the time since, however you are never too old to learn

Wilky,

Wasn't meant as if you was a Nooby to riding, more of the new bike syndrome.

My brake reservoir cap is all furred up with white ***** too, will be coming off soon and getting a fresh coat of satin black paint.

Like the sense of humour though!!!!

Do you think I upset Wilky?

God I hate upsetting people!!!

That is unless they are in a bloody Volvo!!!

Ha ha ha!!!!

Those caps look cool but I think I'll follow the trend of the previous owner and look for a carbon fibre cap.

I think its just poor Quality from the Suppliers. Look at any RSV <2004 and most will have ****** OE front brake caps or aftermarket Jobbys, Didnt seem to effect the Clutch cover quite as bad IMHO. :devious

they go ****** cos the fluid leaks on 'em. shabby for Brembo, which are usually ace, good excuse to change them tho!!
Ck

I got some anod. alloy ones from Pro-Bolt coming...hope they look ok :eatcorn

Just done mine with that...looks like a new one now :thumbup

The right set of bar ends will make a difference on the vibes through the bars.

I've even heard years ago of people (not rsv owners) filling the bars with ball bearings to damp it.

What year is your bike? and does it have o.e bar ends? My log book also records engine no. as not stated. which when i asked the dvla they said it's common and just means it wasn't written down and its no big deal.

AFAIK though it should declare if it was first registered outside the uk.

Yep, some dozy :jack monkey has fitted some crappy aftermarket bar ends on mine and the 'O' ring on the inner bit is missing.:pirate

Will have to see if I can locate a better set of bar ends and replace the missing 'O' rings.

I get the old numb throttle hand too, but agree its not so bad when you are out on the faster roads and the weight comes off the hands.
