Of the crash variety that is. Anyone got good things to say about fitting them and any particular ones to try/avoid like the plague?

I've had mixed experience. Saw a mate write off his GSX-R when a bobbin dug in when he lowsided on a trackday, however I had them on my Fazer and they saved the fairing when I had a humiliating 0mph drop on the drive.

Cheers

R & G are the Biz. They save about 2K worth of damage when my mate dropped his GSXR 1000K6 at a respectable 30mph , keeping the damage down to £800. £65 saved him paying out £2950. As a result i have fitted the full R&G bobbin kit on my Tuono (Front Forks, Frame protectors , and cotton reels)

I Fitted R&g Seem The Best
The Template For Cutting The Top Fairing I Found To Be A Waste Of Time, A Bit Of Guess Work And Nice N Steady With Dremal Worked For Me
Make Sure That All The Nuts And Bolts Are In The Pack, The Threads In The Kit Are Different To The Ones On The Bike
The Only Thing I Find Is My Legs Catch On Lower Bobbins At Traffic Lights Only A Small Problem When They Do Save A Lot Of Damage At Slow Speeds Yes Damage Will Happen If You’re Giving It Some

Yep, would have to agree... I've had R&G crash bungs on my last three bikes (the first set put on after a low speed drop....oops!) But have only ever felt the need for frame bungs....

:stupid I'm with all of the above, R&G is the shizzle !! Haven't "tested" them yet, and I intend to keep it that way but I'm hearing nothing but good things about them. I had them on the Raptor as well, though I wonder WHY they made 'em so hideously BIG for a naked bike?? :O I'm glad the ones for RSV's are much more.. errr.. elegant :laugh
I'm getting some bungs for my öhlins forks as well, gotta preserve those..!! :thumbup

Hi Pumpkin, try Ebay.A guy sells four bobbins, studding, washers and nyloc nuts for around [email protected] Will do front and rear spindles.Just fitted a set.Good product, good value.Regards AL

The thing is, if you are fully-comp on your insurance, as I'm sure most of us are, I can't see the point in fitting them, you are only saving the insurance company money

Not everyone is Fully comp tho'. And with the excess to pay first it will be beneficial to have crash bungs for those embarrassing drops off the side stand etc where any damage will probably not be as much as the excess :eatcorn

I had a slow speed spill on a roundabout in March and total repairs cost me £300. My excess was £350 but I was only TPFT so couldn't have claimed anyway.

I had R&G's fitted and they saved me an expensive repair bill, plus no lost no-claims-bonus.
