Bleeding clutch?

Alright all, i gonna bleed the clutch through before heading to the Ring, have seen and read the "How to" thread but it doesn't mention whether i'm required to cable tie (or similar) the clutch lever open slightly??? Do i need to??

No you dont.

When I bled mine last time I couldnt get the las bit of air out of theM/c banjo - no matter how hard I tried. The design allows a high spot in the system at this point.
I lent the bike over to the right and rested the crash bung on a axel stand. Tipping it over this way removed the high point in the clutch line. I re bled the system ant it was perfect, A big air bubble came out. Jobs a good un!
 
Andi, if the banjo is at the highest point of the system, just squeeze the clutch lever half way then loosen banjo bolt slightly, as your lever starts to come fully in and air and fluid comes out the banjo nip it back up then release the clutch lever, then check fluid level.:thumbup
 
bleeding clutch

bled my clutch yesterday from the bottom up with dot 5.1 haven't ridden it yet but it seems OK went up and down the gear box smoothly on the paddock stand

I tried that........several times, but still couldnt get a satisfactory result,,,hence the bike lean:pirate

yeh, a think mine has a different m/cyl fitted, I have to bleed mine every 300 miles, crap design for a 10,000 bike.:dunno
 
mines the same. did track day at oulton the other day and had to bleed it after each 20 minute session. i know the mpl slave cylinders make the clutch operation 30% easier but does it also eliminate the need to bleed it every few hundred miles?

Oh.this might be important. I forgot to say that when it was leant over I loosened the Fluid resvoir so that it would remain horizontal BEFORE I took the cap off!!!!!
