well my lovingly cherished RSVR is down, filtering traffic today, a car pulled out of a side road in front of me, i slam on the anchors bike goes down i go into the car bike goes under it.

Damage - me torn shoulder ligament, fractured AC joint in the shoulder and its dislocated, bruised ribs, bad ase of whip lash and a heavily cut knee, im in pain.

The bike - top fairing smashed, headlights smashed, mirrors smashed, carbon air deflector smashed, clocks smashed, front pazzo brake lever snapped bar end etc. both side panels cracked and scratched badly, belly pan heavily scratched rear tail marked. the rear brake lever has snappedand scratched the bottom of the frame leaving a little indentation, right exhaust has bent in and dented the swing arm - does it sound like a write off?

Sorry to hear the news mate, glad to hear your still with us though.

Bike sounds like a wreck to me, another RSV bites the dust. :shocked

Get well soon and get another RSV sooner.

Glad you're OK(ish) mate. Bike sounds like it's going in the bin. Were there witnesses to the car drivers actions as if not the ******* insurance companies generally try it on with a 50:50 claim. Tell them to get ******!!

As above mucker.

get well soon:thumbup

she has admitted liability... feckin only lives 3 doors down (not bad lookin either)

so if its written off i could either take the comp & buy it back from salvage ( front right ohlins looks slightly twisted aswell) and trun into a tuono or sack the whole lot in & buy a ktm 990 sm or rc8, feckin love aprilias tho

Bad luck mate. Glad you are still with us though. If it is written off you could buy it back and strip it down and sell the bits on ebay.:biggrin

Having recently been 'down the road' myself...I really feel for you mate..my wrists are still not right; but I was very lucky as no one else involved. By the sounds of the damage (especially the frame damage - £2k minimum to replace) You're looking at a write-off, if the other person is accepting liability that's positive & will assist with onward insurance for your next bike. Hope you get an understanding insurance assessor like I did!
All the best on your recovery!

****** news mate, but your still here thats the important thing :thumbup. Sounds like a write-off, but as said by others, see if you can buy it back you'll probably make more money breaking it on e-bay.

Good news she's admitted liability tho', were you fully comp :dunno

That filtering lark's dodgy at the best of times, how fast were you going and are the police involved :dunno

Whiplash claim on the horizon too then eh :devious

yeah to be fair i usually dont filter, in fact very rarely. but im fully comp.

police are involved & gave me the option of prosecuting, but in all honesty, i said no, these things happen & last thing i wanna do is alienate a fit neigbour

Im pretty certain its going to be a write off...........guys i cant stop looking at the rc8 i cant i cant

Glad to ya not too badly injured mate sounds like the bikes had it hope you get it all sorted soon

well i hav a seperated shoulder & need an op to screw my bones back together on my shoulder & i have severe whiplash. So im immedaitely seeing pound signs.

Anyone know how they will value a mint 2006 rsvr with some tasty extras ad only 6k on the clock

Sounds more than a little on the painful side there sir  but good to hear you are up and about. Get well soon and good luck with the insurance claim :thumbup

p.s. if the tasty extras weren't declared to the insurance company then it is unlikely they will take them into consideration when valuing the bike. Sorry.

sorry to here the bad news almc, its tough when the other half other half hits the dust.Glad to here your Ok get well soon.Try not to shake or tremble to much with the withdrawals. I suffer when I hav'nt ridden 4 a couple of days.Vissulize (********* speller) and not on the bird up the road. All the best mate.steve
