Went out on the bike 2 weeks ago in the evening and absolutely shat myself cause I couldn't see.

Actually read the manual and saw how to adjust the bloody headlight so I pulled over last night and whipped out the Philips and voila - vision!
Just need a decent bulb now - I need to resist spending on an HID kit... Too close to Christmas and I need some scratches painting out.

Full beam is OK, with both bulbs, but Dip is still a bit weak for my liking. Probably a cheapo £4 bulb in there.
Before, even High beam was way low making it ****.
I always put Osram +50% or similar in the car, will find something for it.
I like night riding as long as I can see OK, I think it is good for your riding skills now and again, same as going out in the rain.

They aren't expensive. I bought a H7 kit brand new with mini ballast for £33, shipped from China. Works superbly!

OI, I meant don't tempt me, but  how cheap.

Send me details or a link if you could! Do they draw a lot of current?

JayB,

Got mine from HERE

It draws less current than a standard Halogen bulb and the light emitted is out of this world.

Takes 30 minutes maximum to fit, even for non technical people.

It won't melt your lense either as it runs almost 60% cooler than a standard Halogen bulb.

If you ride in poor light then this is the best mod to do by far.

you could also run a wire from the spare terminal on the dip bulb and take the feed from one of the high beam wires to get all 3 lit up on full

i've had this done about 2 years or so with no issues

and you can do a mod to use the hign filament in the main bulb, as its not used at all on normal beam.

My 2004 model uses H11 bulbs which is a bit restrictive. I recently bought some Osram Night Breaker bulbs which are supposed to be 90% brighter and 10% whiter. They certainly seem much better than standard bulbs but they weren't cheap at over £25 for a pair - not much less than a HID kit!
