I was wondering what is the best battery for high cranking amps and for holding a good charge.

Most of us seem to have experienced issues with starting but I know a good battery and working starter relay seems to fix it most of the time. We know about the Yamaha starter relay but the battery is still a question I have.

I was advised to get a yuasa ytz 14 s, not the usual yts 14 bs. It's a super heavy duty sealed gel high crank cold start one ideal for our bikes, only had it 2 weeks so can't really give any feedback lol. They retail for about £125 but I paid £85 locally, you can get them for a bit less on ebay.

I was looking on the AP forum and there's a number of suggested ones on there...Griff does one £65 incl postage when I asked...assume if he's supplying it it must be a good 'un!

I have one of these battery's from Mad4Bikes off Ebay, £50 inc delivery. Got to say, so far very good with 2 years guarantee.... made in the USA, worth a look?

Put one of Griffs on yesterday as mine seemed to be turning over fast enough , but not starting [ not enough left for a nice fat spark methinks] anyway whizzes over like fook now. and starts. dont have an alarm on they drain em like mad nedd optimate full time

Anybody have an email for Griff I can't find him through the user search or am I typing it in wrong?

the batt Griff suplies is a varta TTZ-14 incase you want to try and source one youself nearer home.

i got one and its a sound investment:thumbup

i only buy quality battery's as the cheap ones are **** period and a future guaranteed breakdown :rant
