I wonder how many more of us have come from the SP1/2 to the RSV ?. Its really good news that you got it started finally.
One thing about owning an Italian bike its about passion and nothing else , money & reliability dont even enter the equation :)

Yes ive had them both for a couple of years !! Truth be told i wish i had never got rid of the SP2 !!! For me it doesnt even come close to the RSV (Everyone now probably hates me for saying that)

Same as me Mate, and also as Kiwi Rsvr says........................it's all about the passion.
Even though I know all it's weaknesses against some of my previous bikes, every time I pull the Mille out the barn I notice the swingarm, the 4 pad brembos, the lap timer function, the numerous other little bits that make you realise why you hankered after a Mille since you first saw one. (Saying that, I live in Italy half the year and know some Italian girls like that :devious)
 
Had the same problem mate and like you charged the battery as well. i left it for a day and even though the battery was fully charged i jumped it off the car. whitin a few seconds she fired into life. Good luck
