Well, good to see this site up and running again. The Bazzaz system is all installed and all looks to be well. I fitted the unit myself and had a mechanic check it all before I started it for the first time. We don't have a Bazzaz dealer here in New Zealand and I don't trust the Aprilia dealers we have in the North island. I have had the bike on the road and riding with the quick shift is alot of fun to say the least. A big change in getting the speed up there not having to throttle off and engage the clutch. Thanks Rich for the maps. I kept the Bazzaz on auto tune while riding on the road and modified that and will keep the original as a starting base for the tracks here in New Zealand. Now all I need is some dyno time.

Well done chap, a great upgrade, I am slightly kicking myself, reading about the 2011 model coming out with traction and other electric trickery, when I only bought my 2010 2 months ago..........not an impulse purshase, and by the way I love the bike, but will need to reto fit TC.

I love bikes, and different engine configurations and the V4 is barking mad..!!!

My bike was in the first batch of RSV4Factories to come out in 2009, but I won't be looking at changing it just for eletronics. With the Bazzaz I am not reliant on Aprilia for maps. If they release an ABS retro-kit I will look at adding that. Also the improvemnts have all been done by me so it makes it more special.

Great to hear ya got the Da Vinci Code sorted out with all them wires lol , just finished putting my new 57mm throttle bodys on tonite & tuned it , now it just has to stop raining & blowing & I can try them out . Will have to catch up for a ride before you head off again .

sounds good Necro matey.
Im sticking with my 2010 ...All rsv4's have traction control already...its called the throttle lol, now as for the quickshifter, I have had them before and plan to get one for the V4, I just wish the Bazzaz was (a lot) cheaper

Carbon, I agree with the throttle control statement. But if you can get everything dialed in where you can get on the gas faster why not? Also if it helps save my bike once it was money well spent. Oh and it is also called progress mate (and it looks cool when you plug your laptop into your bike, it gives the illusion that you know what you are doing hahahaha). Anyway I needed a spending fix and this gave me something to do during the crap winter weather. Now all I need are the 30mm cartridges for the forks and maybe the BST rims.

Get the rims mate, best thing I did to my Rsv2
don't get me wrong about tc, if I could afford it I'd buy the bazzaz now.. Oh and the bst's, ttx, ohmygodlins forks etc..
Lol

No problem CK, I agree totaly with what you say about throttle control. I have been looking at the BST rims for a while now. But for the money they cost I have been able to install the Bazzaz, upgrade to the TTX and 30mm cartridges. Might give up the spending and get them later next year, I hope that is more successful than my giving up drinking hahaha. Hang on a minute I have to buy the Gilles Tooling chain adjuster so I have a reason to remove the rear wheel to fit the CF chain guards I got from Austin Racing. Well there goes that theory.

NS, has the Bazzaz kicked in yet, whilst you were pinning the throtttle........?!!!

I think my first spend will be on the Bazzaz system, only today have I run up 500 miles for first service oil change, any other tips for performance mods or just tinkering..!

777, I have had the TC kick in on a slippery patch of road when I took it out for the first time after fitting the Bazzaz. The weather here haas been crap so I haven't had the bike back out since. But I am planning on going to the California Superbike School for 2 days as well as a couple of track days in November if weather permits to try it all out. The first thing I did to my bike was change the exhaust and put on a set of rearsets. The best person to talk to for performance upgrades would be Rich at Austin Racing. Other things I have changed are the levers, windscreen, intergrated brake indicator light in the tail (but I think I will get another CF plate bracket from Austin Racing so I can put the indicators back on) and the rear shock to a TTX36. I am going to get the 30, cartridges for the front forks, Gilles Tooling chain adjuster and maybe BST Carbon Fiber rims. Then that should be about it.

NS...nice you are properly obsessed the the RSV4F........were will you go next with your addiction when its done..!........is there another bike for you......are you a bimmer man......?

I wanted a Desmo RR originally, I can stretch to new RSV4 money, and wanted new this time.....so the Aprilia was an easy choice, people ask 'why not the BMW', I have other bikes (japanese and red Italian) which I will not quote on here, I feel the BMW is just a quick jap bike, but i have to say i have not ridden one....! YET.

Not sure what will be up next. Probably something I go 2 up with my partner on. She came on the RSV4 once. Was not what she would call a comfortable ride, had to stop every 15 minutes. Maybe a Ducati SP2, K1200 or something along that line, but I wont be doing anything like I did with this bike. As far as the BMW goes, I am pretty sure there were a couple of guys who ditched their S1000RR's for the RSV4. Also when you out ride one on your RSV4, it was your skill not the electronics that did it especialy when you start getting the back wheel power sliding out of corners. AnY way good lucK with the bike I am sure you will love it and keep us posted on what mods you make to it.

I have just got my V4 back after an engine rebuild, after countless oil leaks...rocker cover, generator cover & then crankcase i complained with some ****** emails to Aprilia. They requested i took my bike to In Moto in croydon who carried out all the works, new crankcase, pistons etc all seals & gaskets etc.
I have to now run it in again till i reach 8000 miles then.....Bazzaz fitted!!.
Was seriously thinking about ditching it as it has spent that much time in the dealers but i have persevered with it....glad i did it's fooking mental !!

Sorry to hear about the problems you have had. Sounds like Aprilia are taking care of it for you.

Hi guys, re registered back in action!

Yep the bazzaz is a great bit of kit, nothing but praise for it,

Just may have 2 units going a little cheaper if anyone is interested.

engine problems

Kingfixer why they didn't change the engine complete .
I have problems with hydraulic tensioner and inlet valves
Tensioner because I have a terrible noise in the engine that doesn't go away anymore when engine is warm.
For 16000 Km starting problems when engine is cold . Now problem found.Inlet valves with 0 clearance. So that was the reason off bad starting. Now this means to that the inlet valves are (possible) burned . The dealer will verifying this but my confidence is gone. I asked aprilia to change the complete engine.
I don't no they will but you never now.

Hi, pin it whilst leaned over! if your balls are that big do it and let me know what happens:D
No really It is a good system and yes depending what setting it is on it will save a high-side.

Mapping after 600 miles is worth doing, the fueling on the V4 is generally rich.

Hi Rich,

Had device mounted and rode the bike a week ago on track. With one of their own maps it is already most powerfull RSV4 so far on Aprilia Dubai's Dyno. Standard airfilter. Smooth pick up at low revs and improved acceleration also because of superb quick shifter. With old tires only used middle/5 of TC and was adviced to use only 1 to 5... Will continue to learn/play next weekend with new tires.

Has anyone spent the time and mapped out their traction control for each gear? If so what kind of thoughts they have on it. We have seen plenty about the engine mapping but not a lot about the TC side of things. It would just seem to me you should be able to map out the TC for different gears for different tracks if you are wanting to get the full benifit of the unit. Would be interesting to hear is all.
