Back on a ape

Lol....I must say that this is miles better than my tuono, lol

One more statement like that, and the Tuonozone police will be after you! ;)

Actually, in terms of appearance, I have to agree. For a start it doesn't look like the parts bin has been raided, as with a Gen1. That said, the uniqueness of my Gen1 keeps growing on me! :D

I had a red version of urs and while it was a good bike, at the time I came from carb'd bikes and the on/off throttle of the tuono didn't fill me with confidence shall we say....mainly as the tuono was on map 1 or 2 (grey wire cut) with only a leo vince can.....overall it was a good bike that with a bit of time and money couldn't have been turned into a great bike......but I had lost a bit of confidence in riding it and the bike was sold to a m8....this on the other hand (Falco) is a lot more sorted hence riding the bike is a joy.....super smooth throttle (actually feels as smooth as carb's), but the bigger picture is, it's still a Aprilia....

A few updates for the Falco.......Factory Racing slave cylinder and new decals......:biggrin

Rexr, what year was your Gen1?

I came from a carb'ed SV650 SK1, to my injected Gen1, and apart from slight fluctuation in the fuel injection when cruising on fixed throttle, it's as smooth and predictable as any bike I've had. No snatchyness in the throttle at all. And no noticeable power dip at 5 to 6k rpm some report. I've just gone back from a Yoshi exhaust to the original (as Yoshi broke), and no change in smoothness of power delivery. I've yet to check ECU to see if it's been re-chipped, but performance seems pretty standard otherwise.

That said, I'm aware some Gen 1 owners do report snatchy throttles, as do early Mille owners, albeit Tuono's were chipped differently to Mille's to smooth up power delivery I understand.

Not sure if mines been 'sorted'. Any other Gen1'ers experienced snatch throttles, and is this due to std fuel injection set up our just poor throttle cable set up?
