Aprilia Titanium Race Pipe

The '00 RSV I've just bought has an Aprilia Titanium race pipe and chip fitted but I don't think I'm going to get used to the noise it makes and may fit the standard pipe that came with it.

It has a small bit of damage that looks like it was caused by the bike falling off the stand. I was wondering if it's worth much? If not I might keep it for the odd trackday but could do with some cash until I sell my TL. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Any idea?

How you manage to damage the can by the bike falling of its side stand? The can's on the right?

Anyway, I bought mine which was mint, but didn't have any documentation with it for £150 in January so around that, maybe less as it's scuffed.

Sorry I didn't mean it actually fell off the stand I was just trying to describe the sort of damage :) It was like it when I bought it. Mind you I had a CBR600 that fell off the sidestand on to it's right hand side - I parked it on a camber and the wind blew it over :blush

Tantrum, i think you'd be the first person to take off the excellent Aprilia race can and replace it with the huge standard exhaust :confused

The can can be repaired and repacked to as new with a new sleeve by MHP Exhausts in Bisley, Surrey. The can will probably only fetch around £80 in it's damaged state. As these aprilia cans are near to £400 new with the chip, then it's probably worth doing :thumbup

Ha Ha I always do things arse about face :)

It's just that the missus followed me home from picking it up and she said the pipe was bl**dy loud. Sounds alright to me when I'm riding though. Perhaps I'm just being a bit :thatsgay.

The sleeve is actually OK it's just the band round the sleeve that's got caught. I could probably tidy it up a bit or maybe fit an exhaust crash protector.

I agree the stock pipe is extremely heavy. I think I'll have to get on a rideout with some other RSV's and compare the noise levels :)

Thanks for the info :thumbup

I wondered whether to remove the baffles on my Arrows when I fitted them recently. It seemed so loud after the stock can without them fitted. Got used to it now though :bounce

Simple solution dude,

WHERE EAR PLUGS !!!

I never ride without them, mainly for the wind noise and not the exhaust but these will definitely help mate.

Cheers,

Ritch

Have to agree with everybody above you must be BARKING MAD to put the original one back on and if you do you'll proberly have to remove the chip as well making a decrease in power...............

Seems like a loud pipe is pretty much compulsory on an RSV then?

I already wear earplugs but as I said the noise doesn't bother me I'm just worried about scaring old ladies in the street :lol

Guess I'm just being a wuss :devious

Cheers, Gray.

Loud 'n' Proud Tantrum :thumbup

Where abouts in W. Yorks you from :dunno

Oh No! not two yellow '00 Milles in West Yorks - how common :devious

I'm from Bingley - well I'm from Southend originally but hooked up with a Yorkshire Lass :)

I always use ear plugs anyway.

I have found the faster you ride the quieter it gets though. :D

I wear those in-ear noise blocking earphones sometimes with my MP3 player but trouble is if a really good track comes on I start riding way too fast :devious

I removed the baffles on my Blueflames, didn't really seem to make much difference, left em out anyway, just in case:devious

Loud and proud, Tigs every time. The 4x4 and sunday drivers can use the excuss "I did n,t see him", but they ,ll bloody here me............

I have same can on all of the time...It was on the bike when I bought it.
I love the sound from it....I dont wear plugs because it sounds soooo good!!
I need to hear it roar every morning!
Leave it on!

Brilliant as always, I've come up with an instant ultra-satisfactory solution..

Just give it to me for my B-day that's coming up in a month or so, it makes perfect sense.
That would make at least four people happy: the missus (who won't be embarrassed to drive behind you), you (who won't be embarrassed anymore when passing old ladies), the old lady (who won't receive the fatal nudge into deafness when you pass by), and ME (always willing to help a mate out in times of need) :D
